My mom cant even turn the computer on.

my mom was so worried about getting a new computer earlier this year. she was scared she would be losing all of her e-mails in her hotmail account. :lol:

and my mom has a full inbox too malicka- i keep trying to get her to delete some, but she just won't :neutral:

she gave me her password a few wks ago cause i needed to go online when i was at her house and i was sooo tempted to just delete everything :lol:

Go into EAC > drive options and switch the extraction method to "secure mode with following drive features"

then press the detect read features button, wait until it does its thing press apply (you have to press apply or it won't be set to use the correct features), then okay, then okay again.

If you want to encode it to an mp3, you'll have to install an mp3 codec, go into EAC > compression options, click the "external compression" tab, and set it up in there. Or you can just rip it as a wav and use the program you would regularly use for converting wav to mp3 to encode it.

Sometimes it takes a bit of work to get it started the first time, but EAC really works like a charm.

Oooh, I forgot about EAC. I installed that like... a year ago... but didn't like it that much so it just sits on my computer unused. :lol:

But yeah, it's good if you can't get a good rip of a cd on another program. I think I used it to rip some bootlegs.

k, I got a copy of Pagan: Ultima VIII for christmas. Box, map, booklet, cd and all. CD's in perfect condition.

It needs to be installed through DOS, so I use DOSBox. When I go to install it, I get this message (in the DOS window):
Halting: Internal Error!
Where: INSTALL.C - 558

the system reqs are as follows:

MS-DOS: Intel 486/33 MHz+ or 100% compatible PC system
REQUIRED: 4 megs RAM, MS-DOS 5.0 or higher, 35 megs free on hard drive, Microsoft or 100% compatible mouse or driver
GRAPHICS: 256-color VGA

i'm currently running XP, hence why I am using a DOS emulator (DOSBox).

please help me! I want to play it without having to get an old computer.

My disc tray won't open.

Is there any other way to fix this besides restarting/shutting down?

If you look at your cdrom, you'll see a small hole in the front of it, get a paperclip and bend it so it's a stick, and push one end into the hole. You might miss the little trigger thing (what, I dunno what it's called! :roll:

) at first, so try re-insterting it. You'll feel a little resistance when you push it into the right spot, and just keep pushing. Your tray will come out.

Though, it's a better idea to try restarting and seeing if that fixes your problem.

And Sarah, don't use a DOS emulater, start up in DOS.

I actually got it to open by right clicking on the D: drive icon and clicking "Eject". Heh. :freak:

Weird. I remember my old drive did that, but I assumed things changed since then. :lol:

(By old, I mean back when you had to put the cd into a tray and insert the tray into a slot on your computer.)

two actually. Though I think the second one is kinda screwy
