glassjaw

Post by sandsleeper »

alright, any glassjaw fans on here?? anyone at least hear of them? i highly reccomend them, they're pretty heavy and their lyrics are freakin raw, but they're incredible! as a first dl i reccomend Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (also the name of their album) and Motel of the White Locust. but any of there songs is amazing!

heh, somehow i feel as though this topic is going to sink like a stone.

I have heard of them, I have a GlassJaw sticker I got from the Korn concert a while back. Unfortunatley I have not given them a listen yet :( But I should b/c they are form Long Island and well not many bands make it big from here. Our best example is Nine Days <and that is pretty sad>

alright i know none of you seem to really care about glassjaw but they're comin out with a new cd on july 9th.... BUY IT!!! it's gonna be even more amazing than the last one, and if you don't know how amazing that one is then BUY THAT ONE!!

the GJ concert was last night, and it was insane! I have to say it was up there with OLP concerts in quality, and like OLP shows every single person was singing along. GJ will be touring the midwest and the west coast this summer, they don't have any fans out there :| , so if you wind up at one of their shows do me a favor and be really nice to them cause they really are amazing, not to mention that they're some pretty cool people too! alright i think i'm done gushing about glassjaw for a while.

I have heard a lot about Glassjaw, but I have never heard much from them musically. My online friend Rick loves them. I plan on getting some of their stuff soon...

I heard one song (something with crash in it), I like it, but it didn't really rock my socks off. I'll try and find some more songs though.

They're a really good band and I can see them gettin somewhere with bands like Thursday out there becoming popular.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

hmmm maybe you heard one of their new songs, i haven't dled any of that stuff yet, i'm waitin for the release, but of their old stuff try the ones i mentioned above or maybe Siberian Kiss. lol i could totally see how people wouldn't like their stuff though, it can take some strong ears and determination, i never really started to like their stuff until after i got to know it, then it just sorta grew on me, it wasn't anything like when i first heard olp and i was taken from the first note, but now they're my second favorite band thats still alive or together.

The song was called Black Coffee, not something with crash in it, I was confused, I have one mix cd with only song that have crash in it and it thought it was on that one, but I also have a 'coffee-cd' and that has the Glassjaw song on it. Anyways, I'll check out the other songs, once I have a faster connection.

two of my friends, actually more than that, but i only know of two who went to the show, are glassjaw fanatics. they both said the show was orgasmastic. i'm not that big of a glassjaw fan, i've only heard a few of their songs and there was too much screaming in them. i guess that's kinda stupid since i really like atd-i and thursday...i'll probably end up really getting into them.

lol yeah the screaming did get to me at first, i really not the screamer band type, but with glasjaw i just consider it a part of the music, i blends in after a while, it fits. heh, there is this one part though, in Siberian Kiss, where daryl screams "IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU NO ONE WILL!!!" that always cracks me up every time, geez what a thing to scream. :P

Kimmy I was just going to make a GJ thread! but you revived your old one!

Ok people go now and d/l some Glassjaw!!!!
some suggestions: "cosmopolitan bloodloss", "ape dos mil", "radio cambodia", and you MUST d/l "The gillete cavalcade of sports".

That concert was amazing even though I just jumped on the GJ bandwagon as Kimmy says. We were in the front and Daryl (lead singer) climbed up on the rail like Raine did in Villanova but then he actually went into the crowd. I was trapped under him for about 2 minutes! Much fun but we survived!!

Go Download some GLASSJAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
