I didn't buy any albums that came out this year.

Manic Street Preachers - Lifeblood was a disappointment. They should probably call it quits . . . They Might Be Giants' new album wasn't that good either. :(

To clear up a couple of earlier posts...

The Trews - House of Ill Fame - came out last year.
Pilate's album is "Caught By the Window", and it also came out last year.

However, The Music - Welcome to the North is both from this year and fucking awesome.

Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News

 definitely those.

And:

MG - WLRRR
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
The Killers - Hot Fuss

I also very much enjoyed Wil's Both Hands.

But overall a pretty disappointing year :(

(ooh yay I've seen all those bands like this year too :D)
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Avril Lavigne- Under My Skin
Green Day- American Idiot

those 2 are tops for me, no question.... for both cds, i actually didn't stop listening to them for a month after i got it.

and i have a feeling i'm forgetting one.
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

hmmmmmmm

Action-Action: Don't Cut your Fabric to this Year's Fashion
Elliot Smith: From a Basement Hill
The Good Life: Album of the Year
Head Automatica: Tokyo Decadance
Matt Pond PA: Emblems
Muse: Absolution (I think this is late 2003)
My Chemical Romance: Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Pedro the Lion: Achilles Heel
Sleep Station: After the War
Straylight Run: S/T (demos were better though)
Sufjan Stevens: Seven Swans
Ted Leo and the Pharmicists: Shake the Sheets
Tilly and the Wall: Wild Like Children
The Unicorns: Who will Cut our Hair when We're Gone

thats a decent list

I would say my favorite of the year is between The Good Life and My Chemical Romance
old school CM'er 4 Life

Oh, and I forgot that Maroon 5's 1.22.03 Acoustic EP came out this year. It makes my list simply for the ACDC cover being on it.
