Fall Out Boy

Post by cor3y »

Not sure if there's another thread about these guys, but I didn't see one so... discuss. I've been hearing a lot of good things about these guys, but only let myself listen to 2 tracks off the new CD because I'd rather wait til the one I ordered gets here. I noticed allmusic.com gave the new CD 4.5/5 stars, which I've never seen before for a somewhat mainstream, present-day band.

 So did I.

But someone told me that the band is kickass live.
"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

I love Fall Out Boy :D

I made a thread about them before which nobody posted in other then to bash them which I'm sure will happen this time too :P

I have all their cds and their dvd and I'm hoping to catch them at Warped this year if I can make it there in time :)

Their last full cd came out in 2003 .. they just recently released 'my heart will always be the b-side to my tongue' which has their dvd and an acoustic version of 'grand theft autumn' plus some other unreleased songs.

Oh! and they're on this month's cover of AP Magazine ...

If any of you ever have the chance to see them live .. I suggest you do.
One of the best bands I've ever seen live, they had so much energy and were all over the stage .. and super nice. At one point Peter jumped into the crowd and when they lifted him back out he stopped singing and asked who he hurt because he hit someone really hard .. and he's like, "come see me after the show and I'll give you a t-shirt, i don't want anyone getting hurt." Soooooo goood. I didn't get a chance to meet them after because I was trying to find the people I came with .. plus I had nothing for them to sign :(

I saw this thread and I was all like "A thread about Radioactive Man's Sidekick?" than I came in and I saw that I had already said I thought it was about the actualy fall-out boy. Then I got really confused :freak:

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

this band isn't good.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.
