is it just me or does everything that comes out of their rehersal space sound good? cuz im pretty sure that vampires was done there (listening to it).
maybe they should record their album there, lol. Maui has done nothing for them.

EDIT: Do we know what song the christmas greeting features (i think it might be "hit the wall")

Okay, after watching the video...I'm definitely not one to complain. :)

First of all, the song is way better than "Vampires" and the studio version of "Not Afraid". I love the piano...sounds like the album will be a step away from Gravity (which I didn't hate but let's face it, it wasn't their best). It doesn't sound poppy to me...just really mellow rock. Yeah, Jer's drumming is really simple but it sounds like a really simple song (in a good way!) and I always hated it when the drumming gets so complex in a "soft" song that you can no longer 1)hear the lyrics/vocals clearly or 2) The drumming is the only thing that sticks out.

And I really loved how all-out they went near the end. Couldn't hear the lyrics really clearly so I've yet to comment on that.

So I'm happy to say that my negative view of OLP (it's all your guy's fault!) has been taken away and I'm hopeful that we're in for a good album this coming year.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

I have to admit I wasn't thrilled with the song at first listen... But it did grow on me a bit..

I don't know. I haven't really been over impressed with the songs we heard in concert of the last few years. I only hope this cd is good...

As for haircutes and such.. You guys make me laugh. I was just happy to see Steve play again and Duncan on the keyboards again.. It has been so long since Duncan really did any keyboard stuff...

over all I did find it funny how Raine said we promise it will be out by spring.. LOL.. like he knows people have been wtf the cd is pushed back again..

I just want to thanks Stace.. i showed this to someone I talk to on another board and they said it is cool how OLP give greetings to their fans.

they were right.. it is nice.. :D

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

You know what would be even better than Duncan on the keys?

A fifth person in the band.

It would have been really convenient if their last two hadn't quit, eh? hah

But seriously, if they have to leave bass out whenever there's keys in the song, it's going to suck. If they're still doing Rock's "live off the floor" type of recording crap, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Same goes for the live performance.

'Twas a mistake leaving Lanni in the first place. Had they stayed with him, maybe taken a break for a year or two to get their minds on track, the music would likely still be good, and Mike would likely still be in the band.

But that's all conjecture. Maybe Lanni raped Jer or something, and that's why they had to leave him.

But now Rock rapes our ears.
