Guys never ask me out. I think I intimidate them. The end.
A lot of guys are just as shy as you. Rob is right. Ask them out. If they say no, then it's a no and move on.
Either that, or you have something on your face...
Intimidation isn't usually a big factor unless they think you're way out of their league. And if they think that, and are one of the shy guys they won't try, so you have to make the move. However if they aren't one of the shy guys, they'll try and pick up a girl out of their league anyway. They like the challenge.
See, I got that one too.
Guys don't ask out girls who can beat them in video games and prefer action movies to romantic comedies.

It depends on how much of a tomboy they are. If they're a lot like a guy, like a butch lesbian, then why would any guy want that? That's like dating another guy almost and it grosses most guys out.
It's true that there are guys who are afraid of competition, but in most cases, it's because they don't want a girl who's too much like a guy. Sharing things in common is one thing that is important, but having too much in common is a bad thing.

Once again: Stupid boys!
I didn't make an assumption, in fact, I didn't even say that Sarah was like that. I know she likes video games, but I was making a generalization on tomboy type women, who can be too much like a guy. Sarah's post was what I based my answer on, because it can stem deeper than what she was saying.
Why do people have to be in such drastic ends of the spectrum. Girls are either girly girls who wear pink and glitter and have Britneys autograph taped to their bedroom mirror, or they are ex-convicts who have a pack of cigerettes in their pocket and are missing half their teeth but make up for it with tattoos.
Its frustrating to have people stereotyped as so.
Besides that, half the time it seems like unless you idolize Jessica Simpson for her intelligance and street smarts, your not going to get a guy.

you don't have to, most, not all guys aren't into someone else who's too much like another guy. but everyone's different, it's what makes everyone unique and not a clone of each other.
What intimidates a lot of guys is being unsure of what the girl in question wants/is thinking. If you ask him out, at least then he knows that you're interested.

Personally I'd go for a girl who thinks women like Jessica Simpson are an IQ point above retarded.

Yep, only one IQ point though, I mean as far as I can tell she slept with enough teachers to graduate... So unless teachers are sleeping with the mentally challenged now... I'd say she's a single point above...
