Most of my friends have never even heard of them...all you hear in south GA is pop, rap, and country (TONS of country, bah). I have one friend that sings along to Life and makes fun of Starseed (she only knows it b/c its on the Armageddon sndtrk)
Only one of my friends had ever heard of them before I introduced them...and she moved here from north GA.

Everyone here is SO deprived.

[quote="ArlieKoz13":1csoxy60]My parents can't stand them because of Raine's voice. My mother once said that his voice sounds like her gall bladder operation.... [/quote:1csoxy60]

Hey, he may sound like a gall bladder operation, but at least it's a damn good gall bladder operation.

Anyways, i think it's funny that everyone's friends don't know who OLP are. Silly americans. My friends are great. Either they like OLP or are mature enough to respect my taste in music.

All of my friends know who they are b/c I make them listen to my stories and look at pictures from their concerts. Some of them hate olp though...but it could be b/c I play the music a lot and make them listen to it when it's on the radio. :) But I guess it's their loss

A kid in my latin class today kept randomly yelling out "Our Lady Peace!" for reasons I can't explain O_o. But, SWOT, or SOT, has been played on the popular radio stations lately, so maybe he's heard the song...

LOL, first time he said it, I whipped around and stared at him, and he was like "What?".

People need to stop being so close minded, eh?

I really have a good feeling about this new album. My brother's heard SWOT on the radio twice, and considering the facts, that's a hellova good thing.

It's so hard to convert people unless they're into that type of music anyway. And what "type" of music IS olp anyway?! They're their own category... which means, ya gotta love em for them, and not because you just happen to be a fan of the genre (cause there IS no genre... get it? GET IT?!!)

I GETCHA. CD stores categorize them as alternative rock, but they're really not when you think about it.

I converted someone!!!! or at least she says she likes them now. Half my friends like them.. But then there are the comments like OLP are... "gay/homo/suicidal/whiny little girls" It's sad really  . The announcements class at my school last year used to play OLP pretty often during homeroom and a lot of people would sing along with the clumsy stuff!! It was pretty cool!

I've just recently converted 2 people!! :D But one of them is my friend's boyfriend and the other is his friend. I can't get any of my friends to like them. My friends suck. And the two that I converted are burners. They don't buy cds, the only burn. EVIL!!! I don't know why I allow them to have burned OLP cds.

i think burnings ok as a temporary thing. like you just wanna test out the music to see if you liek them enough to buy a cd but if u like them and decide to not buy the albu m thats kind of dumb. Like last night , nikki burned some of Chantal's songs to a cd for me cause i haven't really heard too much of her music but i really love it so when i get round to it i'm gonna buy her cds. :)
