that's all we have right now. plus the five second sound bites are usually better than what they actually have to say, lol.

You do realize that most of these 5 second sound bites are forgotten by the band probably immediately after they say it. I bet most of the time they're just giving random stuff that at least might make sense. What do they care if they're off by a month or two, or if they say a song will or won't be on. I think too many people here have too much faith in everything the band says.

On the topic of taking Superman's Dead out of the setlist, I think it might actually be a good idea. I know, you know and the band knows that the song isn't about Reeve, but it's going to get misconstrued by a lot of people. The song has (at least for the time being) taken on an unintentional dimention.

However, there is another solution.

I'd love to see the band make a slower version of SD, like Julia's piano version - a slower and very different song with the same lyrics. Then that extra dimention that has been added with Reeve's death could turn the song into a tribute to the hero, and the man behind the hero.

ummm, that would basically be a totally different song.......not a bad idea, but I doubt that OLP would really want to jump through hoops with all the new material they've got just to appease sensitive fans with a bizarre version of SD.

Ummm... Just changing the song up (without the reasons mentionned above) seems possible considering over the years they haven't changed the song at all. (and don't get picky with "one show Raine strummed twice as slow during the intro blah blah blah")

And ya would someone pull the guy's avatar down? it slows down the CM way too much and frankly it's kinda unnecessary...

whatever guy...........its a bad idea.........just let the song stand as it is but don't play it for awhile. A new version is just a lot to ask for when they have a huge catalogue of songs to choose from. Just being realistic.

well not really........I have nothing against a dedication or something........its kind of sweet.

But the song was never about Chris Reeve, so why go through all the trouble of rewriting a classic song just so you can play it at a concert. I'd like to hear it too, but its just not gonna happen.

New material or another song is an easy fix for touring.
