homework help? ANYONE?!

Post by tasha »

i need to know what you know about the history and geography of France in Africa. colonialism and such.

i really know nothing. and the more i read, the less i understand.
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

And though the hum and sway gets me down

France and England, the Dutch and Spanish were very into the whole LETS CLAIM EVERY PART OF THE WORLD. England obviously nailed most of it, but France grabbed a fair piece of it too. Places like the Ivory Coast and Tunisia and someof the other countries in the middle of Africa are French. Mozambique and Madagascar. Mauritius and Reunion. Sthn Africa has had is boundaries redrawn as well so you would be wise to check into that as well.

go to the bbc website. they have great profiles for different counties. look up those african nations and you'll be able to see timelines of events including colonization, when they became independant, etc. the bbc is good for country profiles and such. democratic republic of the congo was french at one point i believe as well.

i'd look myself but i'm drowning in my drama homework!

Whether they gained their independence or not, they were still colonised by the French. There are very few places around the world now which are still colonies. For the English, Canada, Australia, New Zealand?? and India maybe... there isn't much else. For the French, Mauritius, Reunion, New Caledonia, French Polynesia. I don't know of too much more.

Eh... for clarification purposes, if you participate in the Commonwealth Games, you're still a nation under British rule (technically even if not in practice). Makes you still a colony of sorts :P Yes I do understand you are a country, just like Australia. I was a little rushed when I typed it up.

Canada be broken away from England. We just love the Queen so we support her, but we are not under any rule or influence by them anymore.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever
