Hopefully, (and I'm sure this was Reeve's wishes) this will actually be benficial to paralysis victims. It's a sad thing, but I'm sure paralysis charities will benefit from this as a mass amount of donations will be made in his honour. It's something he worked hard for, and I think that he would want to have something good come from his death. It's unfortunate though.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
"It's a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself. Makes you wonder what else you can do that you've forgotten about"
This comes from KryptonSite, thought I'd pass it along:
Superman #75, 1992 (written by Dan Jurgens) wrote:But most will remember this sad day as the day the proudest, most noble man they ever knew finally fell. For those who loved him -- one who would call him husband, one who would be his pal, or those who would call him son -- this is the darkest day they could ever imagine. They raised him to be a hero: to know the value of sacrifice, to know the value of life. And for those who served with Superman in the protection of all life comes the shock of a failure: the weight of being too late to help. For a city to live, a man had given his all and more. But it's too late. For this is the day that a Superman died.
What a truly classy man, and an inspiration to people everywhere. If something like that ever happened to me, I hope that I can have a tenth of the heart and courage he did to carry on with life. I'm happy that he will be better off now.
<nam_kablam> I'll be naked holding a ":O" sign while pumping their door
I know, it's sad. Maybe I am just insensitive, but the first thing that came to my mind when I heard this was "why-y-y is superman, dead."
It's very sad. He was a neat guy.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.
It didn't even occur to me, the song I mean. On r&s's it says to play the song in his memory. Made me laugh, I'm not really sure why. I guess because I have no association between the two.
I have no doubt that this will help greatly with research. A great man.
