Need Encoding/Decoding help

Hey, I know a few of you might be able to help me out with this question. I need a program that will allow me to convert an .avi using the WINDOWS MEDIA VIDEO 9 VCM codec into another format like .mp4, mpeg 1 and 2, xvid, divx, 3ivx etc... that will be compatible on other Operating systems.

It will only play on Windows computers because of this, so if anyone could give me any info, it would really help.

Did you try TMPGEnc? I've found that it'll pretty much open any file I throw at it, as long as my computer (with all the billions of codecs I've installed) can handle the file, too.

Nope, I haven't, but that's the one I've usually used. However I haven't encoded anything on a PC for a long time, so I just asked to see what was out there.
