Has anybody noticed that this is a group of 40-year-olds acting like kids? Or the fact that the songwriting is terrible? Or the fact that every guitar riff on every song sounds exactly the same?

No thanks, I'll pass.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

As opposed to the 2 million pop/punk bands out that want to sound like Green Day.

I thought I was listening to Good Charlotte when I first heard American Idiot. It's just that bad.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

that's because greenday defined and originated the pop-punk genre, and now every crap band like good charlotte tries to sound like them and ends up bastardizing the original concept.

I've heard two of the songs... I'm waiting to hear the rest when I get the album... but... it sounds like good old Green Day to me. Can't wait.

I also ordered tickets to the Philly show a few days ago. Can't wait to see them again.

The story about him and his wife getting together is so cute. I don't remember where I heard it, though. :freak: Did they have a Behind The Music, maybe?

There is no point in defending Green Day. They might be getting ripped off by crap bands, but they still pretty much are the reason for the crap bands. Therefore, they are just as responsible for the Good Charlotte's and Yellowcards' out there as the members in the bands.

You might as well try to fault pearl jam for crap bands like creed and nickelback for coming into existence. If someone comes out with a piece of art you can't blame that person when someone makes a bad copy. You blame the person who made the bad copy. Though there would be no Good Charlotte and no Yellowcard without there having been Greenday, it is not Greenday's fault that these bands suck. Therefore, there is a very definite point in defending Greenday.

I like Greenday....and Nickelback *hides* But anyway I think I will pick up the new album I heard some of their songs and they sound good to me.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

But I sure as hell can blame the band for making a sub-par album with an unlistenable single. Wow, that just sounded like Good Charlotte and Yellowcard.

There's no difference between the three bands. They're just jokes of bands. Green Day used to write good stuff, and at worst, they were at least listenable. Then they thought it would be cool to release the shittiest politically driven song, and just sound like assholes to the general public. Then the rest of the stuff (from what I heard) off this album sounds like filler. Filler to a God-awful song.

Yeah, Green Day is just as bad as Good Charlotte and the rest of that pop-punk shit out there.

I remember when I was wondering why in the hell Warner Bros. would drop Green Day, a big band, right before their album was about to drop. Now I know why.
