1000 deaths and climbing

The odd thing is that most of these deaths coccured after the war was supposedly won. Remember Bush standing atop the carrier declaring that the war in Iraq was won? That was some 700 deaths ago.

Odd yes, but quite a few predicted it would occur this way. It seems not many Iraqi people wanted to fight for a leader who had killed so many of their own. However when the Iraqi people felt that the US was attacking Islam... well you've seen the results.

To add to that I remember a news cast in which an ex Iraqi government offical (or someone like that) was interviewed by CBC and in that interview he stated that the US would be able to take over Iraq, but their problems would come in their complete lack of knowledge of Iraqi culture. Basically he said that the US could take on the Iraqi military but not the people.

I know it was predicted this way, but Bush shouldn't have told his country that the war was over when it wasn't even close

you know there's a good way to stop the agression towards the US in Iraq. stop feeding iraqis. let them grow a little more hungry, so that maybe they don't have the energy to fight. if you noticed, the agression started getting more and more severe when the relief came in.

uhhh, One problem. How do you seperate the rebels from the victims? Fair enough dont give the rebels food, but women and children wont be getting any either.

I don't think taking away food is the answer. I think if anything that would make more Iraqis rebel. I don't think there is an answer to this until one side gives up, or a truce is called. I think it was poor planning by the USA in the fact that they never thought there would be a real fight after Iraq had been taken over. It was as though they expected every Iraqi to roll over for them.

Since I'm not in Iraq it's hard to know whether these people are fighting for Iraq, or fighting for Saddam. I believe they're fighting to rid the country of the American occupation, but i wouldn't doubt that a good number of them were Saddam supporters. Either way, I don't think anyone likes being occupied by another nation.
