That's why it should be invested at the grassroots level. If medals don't happen, at least we have a healthier country.

Yay for Kelly Holmes.

I've never forgiven Maradona so boo to the Argentinian football team.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Yay! I am VERY loosely related to a gold medalist.

My uncle's brother's wife's niece is Shih Hsin Chen, the Taiwanese Gold medalist in Tai Kwan Doe. That sort of makes me a celebrity, right? :P

I didn't even know I had loosely related Taiwnese relatives until this morning.

Apparently there is going to be a celebration in Taiwan for her. She's a big deal now.

I probably should have left this thread alone instead of reviving in for a VERY late reply. Anyways, here goes.

My aunt's husband is my uncle by marriage, not blood. his brother is married to a taiwanese woman. Once again, marriage, not blood. So I am related to a Gold medalist twice by marriage
