my doggy was sprayed by a skunk last night. :( poor dog. we cleaned him up and he doesn't smell anymore, but now the house smells. :( and i'm paranoid that i smell now because when my dad went to work, his co-workers commented that he smelled like a skunk. :( and i have the biggest fear of smelling bad. and i have to go to work tomorrow, and i don't want to go into work smelling. anyone have any suggestions of what i can do? i've already taken about 4 showers today. i'm not too sure if i smell or not, so i think i may ask my neighbour to sniff me to see if i smell. i hope not. i seem to smell fine. smelling bad=

Dear Yahoo!:
My dog was sprayed by a skunk. How do I get rid of the smell?
Hannah
Brenham, Texas

Dear Hannah:
If your lovable pet gets together with a skunk, you need to deal quickly with the stinky consequences. We'd always heard that a tomato juice bath would do the trick, but after a bit of research, we found a far more effective way to rid your canine companion of the wretched skunk smell.
We visited PetEducation.com, Discovery Canada, and eHow. Each offered roughly the same recipe:

1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon dish-washing detergent
After mixing the ingredients, wash the areas that have been sprayed, taking care to avoid the pet's eyes, ears, and mouth. To finish, simply rinse your pet with water.
Two of the sites confirm that tomato juice works to neutralize the effects of the skunk odor, but it's not as effective as the above-mentioned remedy. In addition, if skunks are a persistent problem, commercial skunk-odor removers are available.

(id imagine you could use the recipe for yourself lol)

You moved home?

No...I'm just home for the rest of the week to visit/work. I am poor and need my money. But I really wish I was there.

that's what we used on my dog. i can't use that on me because the peroxide would lighten my hair. :(

i'm sure my body smells fine, but i am just worried about my hair. i think the smell clings to hair. i already soaked my hair in vinegar and washed it a couple of times already. it may have helped. i'm not sure yet. i have to get people to smell my hair and ask for their opinions.

we got this spray that is supposed to neutrilize the smell. it kinda worked. my basement and second floor smell fine, but the main floor is so big that it didn't really help. well, it helped a bit.

wouldn't the vinegar damage your hair seeing as it's an acid an all?

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
