"If there is one thing that can be said about Toronto pop punk powerhouse, The Getaway, it's that they get things done.
Touring relentlessly in support of their debut EP on Re-define Records, The Getaway quickly gained a reputation as an energetic and tight live band. They have been across Canada twice by themselves, as well as playing tour dates with acts such as Andrew WK, Grade, Not By Choice and Danko Jones.
Their reputation has gained them invitations to play Canadian Music Week (CMW), North By Northeast (NXNE)and the Halifax Pop Explosion Music Festival, where they impressed fans and industry a like. These shows, as well as their reputation, garnered them the attention of S.L. Feldman and Associates (Sum 41, Our Lady Peace, Bif Naked, Not By Choice) who added them to their roster of artists.
With their first full length release, "What Can You Do?", now out and a Canadian tour just completed, the hype around The Getaway will continue to grow. The band was excited to be back out on the road, following a legal dispute over rights to their name, which they won. The name fiasco drew much attention, as an independent won out over an American band freshly signed to a major punk label.
2003 will see The Getaway continue to tour in support of their new release, backing up their hard working reputation, and playing to as many new fans as possible."
Anybody know anything else about them?
