Well, The bible clearly states that Gay marriage is wrong, but then also says its possible, so I guess God's on the fence at the moment.
Anyways, I have no idea if this has been mentioned before, so i'll just go ahead and say, that its fine for the bible to say gay marriage is wrong/immoral, etc, except Church and State arent supposed to mix in a democratic country, right? So then, by all that is good and free, not allowing Homosexual people to marry is a violation of the Constitution. Feel Free to correct me, should I be wrong.
You are correct, it does say that. But the laws in the Bible were based on the laws of Moses, which were based on the ten commandments. Which are just basic moral guidelines. The state laws are based on a fundamental moral system.
it is not based on Christian Morals though, instead it is based on General Human morals. And several Relgions all teach the same morals.
It never ceases to amaze me how some people depend on the Bible and their preacher to tell them what right and wrong is. Inherently all humans should have this ability. Either that or i'm one of God's chosen.....
Christianity has no place in government, the same as Islam should have no place in Iraqi government. Why are they considered Evil Fundamental governments when George would love to run his own fundamental government?
Several of America's founding fathers were Atheist, including Jefferson. And many others believed in seperation of Religion and State. It was a way of guranteeing that the relgious refugee's of America would never again be opressed by governments.
So George and his other hypocritical friends are all anti-constitutional, and are seeking to destroy everything your forefathers believed in and fought for. Anti-Busher's aren't un-patriotic, they are the very essence of what it means to be an American Patriot
What about the thosands or Buddhist's, Taoists, and Atheists in America? Why should they live by any other person's beliefs? Do these religions not also have weddings, and marrige? So why is it that a Buddhist can't be married in a free nation, when his/ or her religion says nothing against it?
Why does no one keep Jew's from celebrating Christmas? Isn't preserving the birth of Christ Important? Why did no one go after hallmark and other corporate companies for changing Easter?

The Bible has also been edited by countless people. People who can change wording and add their own views. You think people aren't above doing that? Right.
It will look like one author wrote it because it's been edited to look that way.
who edits the bible? it's not like someone can just sit there and decide this doesn't work, scrap this commandment, noone is actually going to edit the bible what purpose would they have? atheasists(sp) wouldn't do it too prove the existence of God and christians wouldn't do it because that would defeat the whole purpose of religion(sp) (i can't spell at all today)

Isn't it obvious? Editing the most widely read book in the world, a religious book for that matter, gives you more power than pretty much any world leader. With a scratch of your pen (or a tap of the delete key now) you can change the beliefs of billions of people, most of whom are not even born yet. A sentence here and there doesn't make much of a difference, but several hundred years of people doing it does. It may have been written by God, but since then it has been copied by millions of scholars and members of the clergy and I'm 100% certain that people have messed around with it.

So what happens if your encouragement turns your future wife into a lesbian?
people just don't "turn" into lesbians it's not like you can flip a switch and be like "yeah i think i'm going to be a lesbian today" ... i don't think there's a whole lot of choice involved in being gay or lesbian though i'm sure some people will disagree.
