i dunno, guess it is me, it just seems to me as though raine take's over as singer, and chantal provides the melody...or background ambiance. though she does get to sing, i just think that the two songs (that i've heard) feature raine as opposed to the duo...

I'm guessing you're talking about Twinkle Twinkle and Can't Make it Good right?

Well first, that's only two songs... not much to base judgement on. Second, what would it matter who did lead and who did background vocals? If they wanted to work together they don't have to have a 50/50 split in every song.

I think you're just fishing for reasons why the band will never ever in a thousand years break up.

I don't think Raine is really "being featured", the songs are all 50/50...
i would love it if they did another song together

Hmm. If they're like most married couples, they have joint bank accounts and everything, so how to split royalties shouldn't be a big deal.

he does, it just costs money for a producer...but he can produce it himself, in fact if what you guys think is true...he will probably produce the band's album(s) after they leave sony...

I remember reading an interview once, where a fan asked if they had ever thought of producing their own album and he just said "No." I don't really know if that would still be true, but thought it was worth mentioning

I remember that from Spiritual Machines.

Raine recorded some of his vocals from his home studio and produced some of it as well. Then he said he would never do that again.

Honestly, I don't know if the band is able to produce their own album. They're pretty reliant on their producer. I think that's pretty clear when you look at the massive change from one producer to another. Lanni had a major influence on the band, and now Rock has taken over that influence.

lanni or mike turner...or maybe both, or maybe none...maybe it's just that raine, jeremy and duncan changed, and arnold and mike were left behind...

Kermit, don't take this the wrong way, but you might want to rethink the way you phrase some things. Terms like, "left behind" have a negative connotation and could get people mad at you over a simple misunderstanding.

ok anyways... I'm going to say it was more Lanni than Mike. As much as Mike probably was an integral part in the thought process, I think Lanni had his hands in the mix just about everywhere. Listen to some of the other bands Lanni has produced and you'll see that a lot of things from the first 4 albums are visible.

getting to the producing part. I have felt for the past few years that if OLP ever ceased toexist that Raine would probably go into producing. That may be another reason he likes working with Bob Rock. Iknow you guys don't want to hear that. Look at how many artist Bob has worked with in his career.

getting back to Raine. I would not be surprised if OLP produced their own material. Raine had co-produce Happiness and Spiritual Machines with Arnold Lanni and he just produced 6 tracks off Avril's new cd. I can honestly see him moving in that direction. Whether with OLP or other artist.

As for the other guys. I see Jeremy and Steve doing more studio work and tours. Duncan would probably go back to some kind of film. Who knows though.

As for Raine and Chantal. It is always great to see them perform together. I still love watching them do Blue and Flying Home on the Music Without Borders Discussion show. He is playing accoustic guitar while Chantal is singing and playing Piano.
