Is the Killers any good?
-Sarah

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Kind Of Like Spitting - You Secretly Want Me Dead
Kind Of Like Spitting - Nothing Makes Sense Without it (on vinyl)
Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage: Animation Music Vol. 1
The Dirtbombs - Horndog Fest
The Dirtbombs - Chariots Of The Gods?

Good day for me. I was going to pick up the new Mirah album (C'mon Miracle) but it was all scratched up, so I didn't bother to.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Music is my life. I work at Best Buy specifically to work with music. I get a huge discount on older CDs, so it's hard to turn them away.

Everything I do involves music. Work (I've manipulated the store's speakers to play music of my choice), sleep, school, rocking out with my band, driving, spending time with my girlfriend, going to concerts, yeah, everything I do involves music. Therefore, if I splurge once in a while, it's cool, because I'll get my $6 out of my Dirtbombs albums and $7 out of Olivia Tremor Control.

That's it, it's time for me to make a daily music recommendation thread.

I used to average a CD a week for about three years. This was when I had money for it, either from my parents or a job.

Up here at school I have to drive 50 minutes to get to a decent record store.

Best CD I've bought in a long time. I really enjoy it a lot. I'd definitely recommend it.

All of you peeps should be looking for Guided By Voices last cd to drop on August 24. That's going to be the most important cd to hit indie rock this year. Mark my words. A legacy of over 40 albums is coming to an end.

Lamb - What Sound
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Well, actually my parents bought them for me, because I had a good report card. I got the Wilco record because everyone kept telling me how great it is. And it is! :D

I used to buy 10 CDs a month at one point last year. I've hardly bought any this year, until now.

My latest purchase is Morrissey's greatest hits. £2.99 in the HMV sale :D
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Alexisonfire - Watch Out!

Can't wait to listen to this!
"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.

The Dears - No Cities Left
Feist - Let It Die

The customs guard at the border had never heard of either, and because I told them neither of the CDs sounded like Pearl Jam (he asked), he thought I was lying about buying CDs and looked in my trunk to make sure I wasn't smuggling anything into the states.

It didn't occur to me to *show* him the CDs. Oh well.
