Yeah- when I took it, everyone in my class was required to attend additional study sessions twice a week for two months at 6:00 in the morning. Almost no one got below a 3 though. I got a 4.

The US actually sat back and watched what was happening for a few years. Eventually they gave support to Western Europe until the US was attacked at Pearl Harbor, and then they got involved. It was far from a "here comes the heroes to save the day" story, and the US was definitely not the only one getting rid of Nazis.

In the case of the USSR, the Cold War was a power struggle about which country is better, not a war to stop communism. The whole thing cost a lot of money and gave a generation of people nightmares about nuclear war. All we learned about it was that if you spend too much money making weapons and you've got a weak economy, your citizens are going to suffer and eventually you're not going to be a country.

And if you were literate, you would notice I didn't say the US were the only ones who stopped Nazi Germany or the USSR, now did I? BUT, somebody did. Germany didn't stop because they were getting bored. You must've missed that chapter in your history book that you think you know so much about. No, someone who also had weapons were able to stop them. Like it or not, that INCLUDES the US.

And what is funnier, is that you guys BLAME the US for WWII.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The hypocrisy is amusing.

No one here blamed the US for WWII. The problem was miscommunication. We thought that you were saying that the US saved the world in WWII, and we were rebutting that.

As severe. As in, there would have been less weapons used by countries such as Japan if the US hadn't supplied them to them. The war still would have happened on an alarmingly huge scale, of course, but you can't deny that the US did fuel the flames a little...

It's pretty common knowledge that the US declaired itself neutral at the beginning of the war, and supplied both sides in order to make a profit off of it's neutrality.

No you don't claim to know everything, but you did call it "common knowledge" as if EVERYONE knew what you were talking about. I didn't and still don't.

I also tend to get on the defensive when someone says I have my head up my ass. Point to one thing in this thread that I said that isn't true and I'll retract it if I was wrong or defend it if possible.

Well I haven't found anything yet. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold food and medical supplies and stuff like that, but I'm interested in what kind of weapons we're talking about.

From what I remember my teacher talking about, it was general arms that were manufactured in the states, and sold to basically anyone who would buy them. Sold to both sides in order to be fair, I guess. heh

Essentially he said that they were trying to help further boost the economy, and the war that they weren't yet a part of was a good way to do it. I assumed by the way he told it to us that it was fairly common knowledge, since he didn't spend a lot of time on it.

Ok I vaguely remember something about general arms production, but don't remember to whom they were sold.
