Ready?

LOTR, and harry potter

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

I'm supposed to be reading this book that my friend lent me. The thing is, its a fantasy book and I really don't like fantasy. I mean, I like Harry Potter and LOTR and shit but those are the extreams. I suppose I'll have to force myself through it though. She claims it's really funny but I can't see it.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Is it Goodkind or Jordan or some shit? Because, if so, RUN! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!!

Modern fantasy is almost uniformly a festering pit of suck. *sheds a tear for ye olde daies of good fantasy*

In fantasy, stick with the classics, yo. Lord of the Rings. The Chronicles of Narnia. The Neverending Story. The Last Unicorn. Peter Pan.

Exactly. It's LotR knockoff. It might be good if it were original, but...

Wait, I might be thinking of Sword of Truth. Which I HAVE read (at least the first thousand-page book), AND it made me want to stab the author repeatedly.

Who wrote Sword of Shannara?

Oh, well, he sucks too. :P

It's possible I'm just jaded about all this stuff, but... pop fiction just doesn't do much for me. *shrug*

Underground, by Haruki Murakami. I'm not entirely finished with it, but it's an amazing book. It's accounts with sixty different people gassed on Tokyo subways on March 20, 1995. That's just the first part. In the second part, he interviews all sorts of people, including a member of the cult that committed the act. I've heard Murakami's other books are amazing, too. His most famous is Norwegian Wood. Underground is the only one I have read, and I'm not even all the way through.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,

of course, i'm first gonna reccommend Brave New World.

i just finished reading Prey, by the guy who wrote jurrasic park and does something on the TV show ER too. it's a really good book, i couldn't put it down

anyone looking for a chick book, try Something Borrowed. it's a new release
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

brave new world was... well... i would have liked it a lot more if we didn't have to analyze it in class everyday. it took away any preconceptions i had about what was going on. i had to believe whatever the teacher was saying, not how i took it.
