i finally got to hear it, and i like it. but i would rather treat it as a completely different song form the juno's version. i mean its great and all...but the Juno's version was AMAZING! the energy is still there, but it's a different type of enrgy. great to hear raine's voice go falsetto again. the xylophone's or the guitar (last i checked the jury's still out on that one [personally think thye're xylophones]) are kickass.
personally, i'm looking for to the new album a lot more. ooo and one last comment, sounds like raine was kind of holding back. like he wanted to yell the lyrics, but opted not to.... thats all, thanks for bearing through my crappy critique

I like Not Afraid too..........its not great,but its a very catchy tune that seems to have some inspiration behind it (yes, it actually is inspired in some parts despite it not living up to its bill). I know a lot of people are questioning OLP's technique.....and this one definetly will cause dividers. I like the song, but would really like to hear some revved up guitars and less adolescent based lyrics. The new songs I've heard could be pretty darn cool......but it really looks like their past albums are from a different life.

I don't really like not afraid. The xylophones make it sound so...cheesy and the guitar solo is like in a different key than the song so it sounds bad. I can just imagine olp getting on here and telling us we've been PUNK'D and that the song was just a joke. Or maybe they would realize how bad it is and just use that as a cover up.

i totally agree with you too, with this song, lyrically it seems as though OLP have really matured, which is kinda wierd to say about a band that's been around for as long as they've been. i also want to add this, there is a bit of a raw feel to the song because it doesn't seem as though raine's voice was worked on too much. i just think that people now are just bitching for the sake of bitching.
