Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire

Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

36 hours its been on Winamp playlist by itself, save for a quick listen of Matt Good's new songs.

Get those new Matt Good songs back on. They're amazing.

And Kruno and Miro aren't fucktards (or maybe they are, I'm not 100% sure what that means!)

i'll make fun of miro and kruno till the day i die

Ok, if we were comparing him to OLP 4 years or so ago, then hey, maybe i'd have some slight trouble picking one who is better, but i said he's better than any band and artist NOW... and he's much much better than OLP are now.

Same with me. i dont really have an opinion of Matt Good. His songs are alright, but when I think of Matt Good i dont think of his music or song tunes, i think automaticallly about his poetrylike lyrics. I found it weird that he dissed OLP cuz he seemed like a decent guy.

yeah, i'm not too sure why he would have disliked them until Gravity... but i'm pretty sure he hated them during their happiness/sm period which is kind of odd since both olp and matt seem to have a somewhat similar sound (well, back then atleast). Both Beautiful Midnight and Clumsy tie for my favorite cd of all time. Though, in my opinion, the BEST cd's of my time are probably Happiness and Audio Of Being.

He didn't hate them, he just thought they were overrated. And he also believed that they relied heavily on thier producer (Lanni) for thier creativity. This doesn't seem so unreasonable, now that you think about it.

I don't think that the song will make the album. It just doesn't seem logical to release it on a compilation and then release it on the album shortly after. My guess is that it didn't make the final cut but they wanted to get the studio version out there in some form. Just my opinion...

I wouldn't mind blaming the producer for some of the newer stuff actually.

I don't think the song is bad at all. The only part that really strikes me as "not good" is the guitar bridge from 1:48-2:01. It just doesn't fit in any way. It sounds just bad with the song.

However, I do like the sound a lot, I love the use of different instruments in the background.

But all in all, I think it is pretty average and now that I have a studio version, I wouldn't mind seeing it as a "Whatever" and never making an OLP album but being played sometimes.

I still like the live version better, but I do like it. At first I was all like :freak: but by the fourth time I listened to it I was attempting to sing along. I look at it in the same way as most of Gravity, I like it a lot even though I think it could definately be better.

Edit: Oh, and I agree that some of the parts don't really seem to fit, like the guitar solo.

Is it just me, or does Raine's voice sound shot?

There are parts in Not Afraid that he would have sounded great on maybe as little as two years ago.

At first I chalked it up the song having much less production, but I've seen OLP a bunch of times since 1998 and only since last year have I thought he sounds different.

His voice could very well be getting worse. Theres no telling how much strain he's put on his voice over the last few years of touring.
