Travelling to Ireland...what to do?

Post by molson33 »

I know i don't post a lot, but i'd like to ask if anyone has any idea the best way to go about touring Ireland (and some of western europe)

Any and all suggestions would be welcome. Looking at flying into belfast.

Cheers
Henrietta

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

You do realise that Belfast is in Northern Ireland - and therefore the UK, not Eire don't you? I'd have thought you'd have more flights available to Dublin, but I don't really know. Definitely go to Dublin - it's meant to be a great city, lots of bars. And come to England - London's fun, and Oxford's gorgeous (though I'm a bit biased there). Paris is also very lovely - you can go on the eurostar or get a flight from London pretty cheap with easyjet or ryanair if you book far enough in advance. Berlin and Amsterdam are good too - again there will be cheap flights around.

And Cass - why Telford???
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

When are you going? If you go the end of August you should come to Holland and go to the Lowlands Festival. Amsterdam is always a great city to visit. If you need a ride give me a call :D

Thanks for all the suggestions guys and girls. I can always count on the OLP comunity to give honest opinions.

I know Belfast is in northern ireland, and we're trying to spend as LITTLE time there since its the marching season and well...i'm scared. We're meeting up with a friend in Dublin, and we're going to hang around there (free place to crash) before leaving him to his Thesis and us taking over Europe (in a figurative sense, of course)

Amsterdam and Paris have come up in talks, and we're going to play it by ear and see what we can find. The websites you hooked me up with are fantastic.

I'm sorry i'm not a big poster in the CM, but thanks for reaching out...sniff.

Now if OLP happen to tour a bit over there, then that......oh fuck, sorry, i kinda fell asleep there and was dreaming. Back to reality!

Actually, he's doing it right.

The only problem is this:

Dont' worry too much about being in Belfast. So long as you keep away from the trouble areas you should be fine. I know a few people who've lived there or gone to university there and they're still in one piece! And it's so much better than it used to be when they IRA were still active.
