Greatest Hits

It's supposedly happening 6 months after album six. I'm kind of stoked. Anyone else?

It depends on the songs. If its the studio version of Live, then probably not. In fact, that would be a really stupid release. If it does have rare tracks that would be cool. I don't know if I would spend my own money on it. If there is some gift giving holiday after its release I'll probably harass people for it then. :P

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Where'd you hear this?

I really don't care any more. If it's got B-Sides and stuff, I'll probably get it. Otherwise, definately not.

And though the hum and sway gets me down

I should be smart and not buy unless it had something special, but I'd probably fall for it if it didn't anyway.

Me too. I said I would only get it if it had covers/rarities, but the truth is I would likely be driven nuts everytime I passed a copy of the CD and seeing I didn't have it. To the point where eventually I gave in.
I just wanna get out,

I'd buy it. I don't care. Our Lady Peace is one of only a few bands that I would buy all their cds even if they collaborated with Michael Bolton.

spiritualmachines.net. At this point, it's only a rumor, because I have yet to hear of a source of confirmation.

Like everyone else said, if there are no B-sides or covers, there's no point in getting it. I have heard every studio release there is so why bother with getting them again?

This is why I didn't bother with the live CD. I got the DVD, so why purchase copies of the same songs in audio format only?

Rarities/B-sides/Covers I would like to see:

Out of Here
Trapeze
Ordinary
Yourself
Teardrop/Carnival
Fake Plastic Trees
A waste of violence (not bloody likely)

And as an extra:
The Vid

Exactly. . . I'd like to say I wouldn't buy it unless it had something cool, but that'd be a lie. I'd just buy it.

^ I want a studio version of that! It'd be worth buying a pointless greatist hits cd (even though I'd buy it anyway)

OLP should do a couple new covers for a GH album.........perhaps Raine could pull a wickedly crazy Freddie Mercury and do "We Will Rock You" or Frankie Goes to Hollywood "Relax"

Well, since I own all 500 Jimi Hendrix greatest hits compilations, might as well snag an OLP one as well.

 500, huh?

And, while I don't believe it's gonna happen (this was a rumor before, remember?... then it was shot down as being false), I'd buy it. Don't matter to me if I've already got the songs. Yay for being an obsessive collector. :freak: :wall:

^^

OLP is not very open with their rare material. I don't think it's because they're trying to piss off fans. I think they want to release it at the end of their career as a final treat. Does this mean that this is the end for OLP? Probably not. But a Greatest Hits album is an excellent opportunity to start leaking what they've been saving for all these years.

There's no chance in hell, but I'm pulling for a good studio version of Ordinary, and A Waste of Violence if it exists.

Rumour or not- Bands don't need to release greatest hits albums until their songs really are "greatest hits".

i'd love to hear all the b-sides and demo songs in studio versions, and OTIF, and since they are recording like 25 songs for the new album, maybe some of the ones that are left off of it too....its not likely gonna happen....i think the best we can hope for is the studio versions of whatever, and OTIF along with all the singles....if it happens at all..............
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?
