they probably played a lot of the same songs because they would be impossible to teach steve 53 songs....i agree a little diversity in the set list would not hurt anyone, but i can see why it may have been like that, and maybe now they have had more time to rehearse and play some more old stuff....although they will likey play a lot of new stuff on the next tour....i dont know?

i'm hoping they set steve loose and quit constraining him to 10 second solo's. He's obviously got the skills, he's a grad of Berkley, and you can see it in his intro's. Why not do stuff like that in the actual songs?

iv seen them multiple times on every tour since clumsy and gravity wasnt the only tour that the setlist didnt change much.

i'm inviting myself in, cause i figure my oppinion's pretty well in par with all of yours.
that being said, I dont hold out much hope. I'm still waiting for the album, and i'll definitely buy it right away, but the whole band mentality is telling me they really don't want to improve. i'm expecting something one dimentional, with shitty lyrics and hardly a fair amount of effort. i really want to be wrong. but it's not likely.
.........................and the live show's will keep on getting worse.
they'll have the same old songs with even less variety to make room for 5-7 new ones that will get old after a couple weeks.

I don't know if I'll be buying the new cd. I still don't have the live dvd or cd yet, so I'm leaning away from the new album. I'll just download it and see if it's worth my time. If it is, then I'll purchase it, but if it's anything like Gravity, I'm not spending my money on it. It wouldn't be worth it.

These guys have so much talent that's being utterly wasted on Bob.
Steve is an awesome guitar plaer, at first i was skeptical but you can't really deny it. He's got the goods. And i'm pretty sure the Berkley grad rumor is true.
Jer is one of North America's best.
Duncan is a really solid player.
And Raine used to be a very very talented writer, notto mention his amazing voice.
