Is the long wait a good sign or a bad sign?

Like Gail just said, calm down. It's not that hard to pick up a cd by a band not named Our Lady Peace. There's an entire world of mind expanding music out there, so just check that out. Go to a record store, pick up a cd by a band someone said was good, then listen to it. It really makes the waiting a lot easier, especially because it gives you something new to listen to and not whine about.

Just when I thought my day couldn't get any better...

I know I'm just adding to all that 'speculation' and what not, but I was just ahving a wonderful day of shopping, shopping and more shopping, when I went to Walmart. Happily moving a long, I went to the CD section, and what do I see? "Our Lady Peace ...... JUNE"

I know, I know, it could be wrong, yadda, yadda, yadda, but I'm just having a very good day today.

It is wrong.

I work at (kind of) a record store and there's no word of OLP releasing a cd in June. If that were the case, the computers would say something, a single would be released, we would all be circle jerking around pictures of the new cover art, and there would be a new OLP website promoting the new album, along with all sorts of contests and promotions from Sony.

Are you sure you aren't seeing an ad from Gravity? Look at the date, if it says "New OLP out June 18, 2002" then you've got the wrong album.

If I have a chance to, I'll call a couple of the Canadian Wal-Marts and see if they know anything about it. I looked in our electronics department, but I saw nothing on our new release sheet. But I'm glad to hear you had a great day :D

Just saying that it wasn't a poster or an official ad or anything, it was one of those big, blue signs that announce CDs and DVDs that will be coming out soon. I'm not that stupid.

see?

its a thing in Canadian Wal-Marts. They have signs in the electronic departments that state upcoming released. It just says "Our Lady Peace.....June" like we've been saying. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd say the date was pushed back after that sign was made.

Probably. If the release date is actually January, then i'd say that they pushed it back a little to much.

We'd hear a single already if the cd was dropping in June.

Let's speculate August, for now....

Wallmart is this cool guy I know. He was at Wal-Mart and said he saw the sign. And, you know, I'm most definately not making this up.

Again, everyone read this...

There has never been a date for this!

Walmart is just stupid! (note that Matt's Walmart isn't the stupid party here).

We'd have a single or some more word if the album was coming out in August. The only thing we know is the title of the cd, and that they recorded songs. We don't know a tracklisting, how many songs will be on the album, the release date, the single, the cover art, any tour dates to test the new songs, well, we know nothing.

Just expect January. That way, if it gets released in like September, we'd all be surprised.

Well according to the news section they are playing a show in August.. so even if a cd isnt released then, i'm sure they would play some of their new material. Secondly most bands do not just play one show and then head home. I'm sure they will play quite a few shows in August. Tour anyone?

I'm hoping for August. August isn't that far away folks. Hell, May is almost done...thank goodness.

They need live shows to work out their set list, and as it stands right now, they have one show in August. They need to start scheduling shows for the beginning of July or else we should just expect a September-at-best release.

I still say 2017 though.

You guys have no faith in this band at all it seems.

I can wait for the CD/Tour etc. Gives me more time to save money. :D

I have not lost faith in the band because of the long wait. I have lost faith in them because I don't believe they still have the drive in their mind to make the kind of music that I enjoy. Does that mean that I think the band sucks? no. But you cannot blame me for being mad at the band. They were my favorite band, but I just don't think their plans for the future fit what I wish for. So I have completely lost faith in this new cd. I apologize. Then again, who know? maybe i am just doing this subconsciously so I won't be disapointed come release time. I don't know. I just know that I truly have almost no drive to hear their new cd. I really just wish they called it quits after Mike left, but let's not get into that...

I don't want to start another Gravity thing, but, uh, I can blame you for being mad at the band. They don't owe any of us anything, not even a CD you like.
