Chris Murphy and Jay Ferguson(from Sloan)- they have really nice and calm voices
Mick Jagger(Rolling Stones)- he's a rock god
Dallas Smith(Default)
The Beatles
Parry Farrel(jane's addiction)-really interesting
Johnny Rotten(Sex Pistols)-can't really sing but fits in good with the music
Raine Maida-i used to like his voice with the old olp. he lost his uniqueness at the start of the gravity era

Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

hmm.. i'm going to pretend this is rock and surrounding rock-ish genres..

Freddie Mercury - Umm, have you ever listened to Bohemian Rhapsody?
Raine Maida- Mhm
Trent Reznor- AHH. When i listen to NIN i feel so happy.
Kurt Cobain - Some say Nirvana is overrated. They can die.
Thom Yorke - Art rock is so pretty. So is his voice.

If I was a guy, I would want to get surgery on my vocal cords so I could sound like Matthew Good.

I was talking about rock singers to one of my friends last week. We agreed that Chris Cornell's voice on "Show Me How to Live" by Audioslave is frigging amazing.

And Kay Hanley (formerly of Letters To Cleo) doesn't have the most awesome voice ever, but I started singing because I wanted to sound like her (it didn't work).

wow that's weird, i just saw this topic again and decided to come in and tell everyone that Chris Cornell definatly should be here, and then......Lemon beat me to it. Although i would say that in most cases Chris was better back in his younger days with Soundgarden. Although he does have quite the scream in "Cochise"
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

"Hold on, hold on children, your mother and father are leaving, hold on, hold on children your best freind's parents are leaving, leaving,.......*AHHH*! " - Death From Above - Black History Month

scratch my old list:

Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil)
Matthew Good
Robert Harvey (The Music)
Matt Bellamy (Muse)
Cedric Bixler (At The Drive In/The Mars Volta)

That's in order. Cristina Scabbia has by far the most shockingly beautiful voice I've ever heard in a rock/metal band. By far. I highly recommend Lacuna Coil to anyone, and triple to fans of Evanescence.

Matthew Good is Matthew Good. You all know what I'm talking about.

Robert Harvey uses his vocals less like a delivery mechanism for lyrics and more like an instrument. He becomes an instrument, and despite being unintelligible or just singing nonsense most of the time, he's fucking brilliant at it.

Matt Bellamy does high notes better than any vocalist I've ever heard. His falsettos make Raine look like Berry fucking White, and he's twice as stylish as even Happiness-era falsetto-happy Raine. Aside from that, his voice is just pleasant.

Aside from being completely flipping insane, Cedric Bixler is unique. He experiments with his vocals a lot, and the results are incredible.
