Matrix Revolutions

I loved it.

I personally hated Reloaded, but I loved Revolutions.

The plot was still convoluted, but it was much tighter than Reloaded. The acting was flat in one or two scenes, but it also had a lot of superb, touching and thought-provoking scenes.

And though it's shallow of me to say so, the action sequences and special effects were jaw-dropping at worst.

And though I have no idea why someone would call The Matrix a Star Wars ripoff, Revolutions did remind me a lot of Return Of The Jedi: the citizens of Zion's last stand against the hordes of the machine army, the Hammer's maniac descent through the winding machine line to deliver the EMP blast into the heart of the army, and Neo's confrontation with the machine leader and then Smith seems to parallel ROTJ's plotline pretty closely. The citizens are the Rebel's fleet, caught in the enormous battle with the Imperial fleet - outnumbered and outgunned. The Hammer is the Millenium Falcon flying into the Death Star to deliver the deathblow to it's centre. And Neo is Luke confronting the Emperor and Darth Vader.

Yup, that's just about the nerdiest thing you're ever likely to read. :lol:

I agree with this. There were some parts in Reloaded where the dialogue was just plain stupid. :lol:

There's one scene where Persephone says "hurry" to Morpheus, Neo, and Trinity, then she leads them calmly and slowly out of the room, not hurrying at all.

There were so many cliches in revolutions that I was laughing through the whole thing. It was such super-cheese that I couldn't take it seriously,

Correction...

In Reloaded, one of Merovingian's "henchman" was looking for him, Persephone said "Hurry" to him because, Merovingian was getting a blow job from the blonde girl that ate the magical cake, and Persephone didn't like that idea.. .... hence the lipstick on his privates....

i thought revolutions was a letdown.. it just kept on going and it got almost... boring (forgive me)

its all in the real world, almost nothing in the matrix world and that made me mad. i love the matrix world parts, theyre so brilliant.they should rename the movie "the quest for zion" because there is no matrix in it. cheesus.

by far my favourite was reloaded... it had a lot of matrix in it...

(my advice for the future... DONT see "master and commander"... it was really boring! sorry.. off topic.)

I just saw revolutions... let me talk alot:

I wasn't too dissapointed after hearing all of the terrible reviews of it. I was expecting the worst, which it wasn't. The first one is easily my favorite. Why? It had the introduction of the characters. The plot was so new and exciting. It was so mysterious. You heard the title, and ofcourse wanted to know 'what is the matrix?' That was absent in the last two. What I will say, however, is that if all three were combined into one movie, it would still be just as good, if not better than the first. But i can't help but look at each one as their own movie. That's why i believe the last two were released so quickly after eachother. So it would keep you thinking of it as one huge movie, instead of three movies loosely based on the same thing.

Reloaded was the worst movie, however, the fight scenes were the best. Reloaded just moved at a strange pace without answering many questions. It just left too many loose ends that I guess were somewhat answered in Revolutions.

I found revolutions to be pretty good overall. Keeping in mind that is was really an ending to a movie instead of a movie in and of itself. Though I wish it could have had more of a Neo's-victory-awesomeness at the end, I was happy with Neo's final fight scene with Smith. It was very fit for Neo's last battle. I just loved when Neo walked through the rain in slow mo while looking at all of the Smiths. Anywhoo, it wasn't as big of a letdown as I had expected, but it wasn't too spectacular either.

Characters?! wtf. There was no character development in that movie!! And any new characters made it confusing and unnecessary. It was just mindless action. And not in a good way.

What you probably don't know is the fact that the three movies were all written at one time. The same guys wrote all about the matrix and described every little detail. To get all of this information you would have to play the video game and see the Animatrix in addition to the movies.

Now, as nice as all this is...I don't think that when the first one was filmed that they thought the other two would happen. They wrote about them and stuff, but unless The Matrix caught on they probably wouldn't get the funding to make the other two. But, they blew everyone away by making The Matrix spectacular.

Unfortunately they made the other crap. Reloaded and Revolutions were shot at the same time, which is why they are so similar (in my opinion anyway). They also had to deal with something that they didn't really have with the first one...expectations. To be blunt, it felt like they tried too hard. I mean The Matrix had phenomenal action and effects but it also had a convincing plot and complexities that made it riveting. The other two had a lot of fights....... and yeah. Not a lot else. I found them to be anti-climatic and disappointing. Neither one had the philosophy of the first since they tried to add philosophy instead of letting it happen on its own. They tried to be surprising and it was predictable. They tried to be complex and it seemed stupid and useless. They tried and failed.

Thus The Matrix Revolutions was one of the biggest box office bombs of 2003.

Random Name - I said the character development in the FIRST one was good, and not in the others. For example, i thought they did an excellent job with Agent Smith and Morpheus in the first one, but in Reloaded... I still have no idea who the hell that Frenchman was. And I do agree that they tried too hard. The first one definetly didn't seem as forced when it came to philosophy and what not.
