I received an e-mail yesterday asking if there were any special features on the upcoming album.

I replied - "yes, there are. 12 of them."

the funny thing is that he's just refering to how many tracks are on the album

So ... Matt's going to try his best to play some UK shows for the new record :D :D

And he's planning to tour Canadia in the late spring and the fall :D

Yay
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Whee!

Damn, if he really does that... NOTHING will keep me from seeing him. I don't care if I'm in the middle of a testweek or if I don't have any money or whether my parents will allow me to go or not. If he comes that close, I have to be there period.

"I would love nothing more than to play in the UK"

Where did he say that? Or did you e-mail him?

I emailed him last night and he emailed me back this morning.

Some of it's personal, but here's the rest:

Hi Susie:

I would love nothing more than to play in the UK and will do my very
best to get over there on this upcoming record. I plan to tour Canada
in the late spring and the fall as well. Anyway, If I do come over
please be sure to say hello.

cooool
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I was going to email the performing arts center in my town to see if they want to book him, but they don't even have a proper website. I DO have the buisness card of like the manager...and he played last year...anyone have any suggestions on how I should encourage this?

The best advice I can give is to just talk to people at various places. Get the word out that Matt's touring, and I'm sure someone would love to get him to play at their venue. I'd imagine he'd bring in a good amount of cash if it's open to all ages. Making it wet/dry would make even more money.

I'm gonna email some places that might be interested in having Matt play, and see what happens.
