i don't think he recommended bob, but he suggested that they try someone new, and they chose bob.

I pray all this stuff I've been reading about Bob isn't true. In another early topic, I read that Raine had more complex lyrics and Bob made him dumb them down... I hope these types of things aren't true.

Well, I can't decide whether I hope Bob is restricting them, or Raine is slipping ;)

You have to understand that a majority of the people on this message board didn't like the last album, and they all blame Bob Rock for anything they don't like about OLP now.

For some reason people on this message board think he's Hitler and OLP are controlled by him. The truth is OLP wanted to try something different and they did. A lot of longtime OLP fans didn't like their new dirrection and they blame Bob Rock for changing OLP, when infact OLP must have liked what he's done 'cos they're recording with him again.

And Bob didn't tell Raine to dumb his lyrics down, he just told him... "just say what you're meaning to say" meaning for him to be more direct, which a lot of people on here didn't like.

No one is able to say what Bob did or what the band wanted to do because saying so would be very presumptuous.

I know that I like to say bob is the devil cause he is.

but seriously, saying shit like that is sort of judgemental and I am aware of how much of a hypocrite I am but I think they did a solid album and they did what they intended to do. So what are ya gonna do?

i think most people realize that gravity wasn't bob rock's fault. olp decided to make a terrible album and bob rock was just the mechanism for the creation of that terrible album.

Mm, yeah. Well, I guess they said their next album wouldn't be Gravity 2. I wish I could listen to some of these songs, though. *kicks computer*

I don't hate Gravity or anything. I listen to it all the time, and I think it's great when compared to most of the crap that they play on the radio these days. I just thought it was kind of a let down (FOR ME).

I loved it! Sure, it's no Spiritual Machines, but then again, what is? NOTHING! Because SM kicks ass! But I was very happy with Gravity.
This is my story both humble and true,
Take it to pieces and mend it with glue.

I went on this other olp forum once, and there was a thread that asked "whats everyones favorite olp album?!" and absolutely everyone said gravity. There was one person who said clumsy and they were shot down.
needless to say, I never joined but still....entertaining.

Most of the people on here seem to like Spiritual Machines the best from what i gather. Wasnt it the album that sold the least? Regardless its always been my favorite.
