...that OLP shoulda kept Mike E with them. Their music doesnt sound as "full" now. Anyone else agree?

I don't know because I remember what OLP sounded like on record and live when it was just a four piece band. I did like the addition of Jamie(Mike, Later on). I have to say it's a nice change seeing the four of them again. I think you just have to get use to it if you never saw it before.

I really didn't enjoy Not Afraid at the Junos half as much without Mike's extra guitar part. I've not really listened to the Mike-less stuff enough to make a comparison, but I know I'll really miss him when I see OLP live without him :(
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

To me it will only be noticible(the 5th memeber) if they do any songs off Happiness, Spiritual Machines or Gravity. I hav eto say I got use to the few songs off Gravity they did without them when I saw them in the Summer.

It is like I said, I saw OLP as a four piece band so I know what it is like without the added member. They only picked up the 5th member for Happiness on.

It doesn't matter to me if they are 4 or 5 as long as the music is good and they put on a good show live. From what I seen and heard I think Raine is playing a bit more guitar now live and we know Duncan plays keyboards.

Give it a chance, you may like it.

they did have a fifth person though for Happiness, SM and Gravity. . Are you sure you didn't mean to write that instead? ? Or do you mean now the songs( the ones we heard over the lat 1-1/2 years in concert) have no complexity so there is no need for a fifth person?

I saw them in the summer time as well...and I found that the music was lacking. It was still a good show but, they really should have that additional rythem guitar.

They should have Mike E because he kicks ass. And I guess the extra guitars and keys would be cool too.

I thought the 4 of them were amazing last summer, personally. But, that's just me. *shrugs*

Somewhere out there made me cringe (more than usual) because the only way to play it was for duncan to distort his bass. That's sick. If they just want to play songs from naveed and clumsy i fully support just goint with four guys.

personally, I hate five piece bands. Ever since rob joined my band it's gone to shit . . . but then again that could just be him.

shibby.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.
