The Life in my Dreams

Post by Johnny »

The Life in my Dreams

(verse)
If I can be someone some day
What kind of man shall I be
Should I have to change myself
To be one within society
I'm just trying to living day by day
Waiting, wishing and dreaming
For that day and that one life that
The future may never bring

(chorus)
Someday maybe I can find that
Someone who can make me feel
Alive for the first time in
My life because I'm just tired of
Dreaming, dreaming these days
Away and falling into the dream
The Life in my dreams

(verse)
Can't that someone be here today
Telling me who and what I should be
Asking not to sell myself out
Just to be accepted within society
He'll drive me forward, until that day
When I awake from my dreams
And take my first steps into reality

(chorus)
Someday maybe I can find that
Someone who can make me feel
Alive for the first time in
My life because I'm just tired of
Dreaming, dreaming these days
Away and falling into the dream
The Life in my dreams

(Bridge/Interlude/Solo)

Someday maybe I can find that
Someone who can make me feel
Alive for the first time in
My life because I just tired of
Dreaming, dreaming these days
Away and falling into the dream
The Life in my dreams

This piece is my first serious attempt at song writing. keep in mind that my main area of expertise is music, not song writing.

I like it. There's a few bugs to be worked out, but it seems pretty heartfelt and interesting.

Very well done.

There's only one thing I'd change.

Put it to music. :P

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

i dig it bro.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.
