the problem is it doesn't give your each child an equal chance when the rich kid gets a better education, he'll stay rich, and the poor kid will have to work much harder to get to the same level.

as for driving down prices i agree compettion would drive down prices, but how could school run on less then they are now? And since i don't think they could, how could it be cheaper?

also could someone post the prices for a private education? i'd like to see them

here its a couple of hundred or possibly thousand dollars a year depending on the place. Though, those costs are usually reduced.

There are places that cost as much as universities.

Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

He means universities.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

maybe, but so what? if you have two choices, one being that everybody get's the same good education, or the other being the poor get a good education and the rich get a great one, which would you pick? either way, the poor get the same thing. why not allow the rich to use their superior resources so you can improve the quality of life for at least some of the people.

do you have any idea how much money is wasted every year in the bueraucracy in the public education system? how many useless bueraucratic positions we pay for every year? public education, like most public industries, is wildly ineffecient.

that's assuming that a good education is offered at the economical schools.

and what about the families that can't even afford to send their child to the economical school, what about them?

In a way they should be able to afford them because the taxes they would normally pay to the govt towards education would be paid directly to the school.

but not everybody is paying into the economical school. that district is only reciving money from the kids that are going into the school.

the way taxes work now, everyone with property pays tax and some of it goes to the school, regardless if they even have kids or not. that's the way it works, because government cannot be bias. in a private education structure, these schools, like all buisness, have a bias toward a person willing to pay for services. they will not provide servises to people who will not pay, nor will they expect anyone to pay for non-service.

here in this state, 1.50% is the maximum amount of property tax, that can be allocated to a school district by law. 1.50% of property tax is no where near enough revenue an economical school, if only a small percentage are paying it.

Yeah, but the fact of the matter is, the families that pay for their children to go to a private school still have to pay the public school tax. That's just how it goes.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

That's a good point Reno. I think it's probably best to hear what some of those who believe in the "anarchist" theory to explain how that would work, since really I'm just starting to read about this stuff, and since I don't really believe in it at the moment.

so do you.

if, out of a hundred given people, we have to pick 20 to recieve superior services, why not do it? it makes no sense whatsoever to not follow that course of action.

a private education system would improve the overall quality of education for all students, especially the rich. what is wrong with that? WHY deny access to superior services? WHY?

frankly, i think it's really mean spirited to deny access to those privileges just because everybody can't have them. i furthermore think it's retarded. what did our hypothetical rich kids ever do that makes you dislike them so much? all they ever did was be born with money, those bastards.

who denying them access to current public schools now? any rich guy can take his son out of public school and put then in any private school of their choice.

why do you want to take away public school from the poor? what did the poor kids ever do to you, besides be born into a poor family.

Meh i wouldn't call my family very well off, we grew up in the "poor" end of town untill i was in Gr. 6, my parents are still midle midle class right now at best. And that's only because my mom has been working forever at the same job. And my dad works labor and works insane hours of overtime to provide the life style i live.

i some how get the impression that you are better off then that considering you thinhk private schools are cheap, and if my memory serves right you had your college paid for.

there's nothing wrong with the rich getting good stuff, but i do something wrong with the rich getting even more things exclusive that give them an advantage over everyoneelse. I believe in equal oppertunity. Besides in our current society the rich already DO get more, so it's not like they'r ebeing completly screwed
