I've never been skiing

Alabama sucks...
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I might go skiing when I'm in the US - :D I haven't been for years though and I know it's going to hurt. But the snow and the mountains are just soooo pretty
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

What kind of fence was yours? Mine was one of those orange plastic construction fences, and my skis got tangled in it, but my friends wouldn't help me out til they took a picture.

*misses the attempted high five and falls flat on his face*

ouch!!

My fence was a plastic snow fence. I manage to hit the metal post first and then proceeded to get tangled in the fence it self

Last year, I took my friend skiiing, but she really didn't know how so we didnt get her a pass. She went down the hill, and totally took out one of those orange fences, and she got stuck and I was trying to get her out of there because I would get my pass taken away if I took her on the hill without one. Good times.

Oh yeah. Skiing sucks. Get some boards, you losers.

Aww, I was hoping you'd say you slammed right into a wooden fence or something. But seems you had almost the same oh-so-fun experience as me!

I had a good skiing experience once. The first time i hit a jump, i landed on my ass....and was unable to stop. I ended up flying through a skiing class, yelling "get the fuck out of the way" then going through a plastic fence...going through a half pipe again yelling at the snowboarders now "get the fuck out of the way". I continued to fly down the hill at "plaid speed" then finally slamming into the chalet...where i decided it was best i went home before i killed my self.

Did you ever.. in your decent down the hill.. you know.. think of tipping yourself over and letting friction take its course rather than staying on your skis?
