I think One Man Army is Raine's best song vocally and lyrically, Mike's best on guitar, Duncan's best on bass, and one of Jer's best on drums.

Although "Naveed" is my favorite song :freak:

Anyway, yeah, One Man Army is my personal favorite set of lyrics. Great personal anthem song.

One man army is great and all, but i wouldn't say best.

In repair definetly has its name high on my list. I'd say best lyrics may come from 'Is Anybody Home?' or In Repair. Best guitar work... maybe 4am (just for that incredible solo) or OMA. Best drums... i don't know.

If we are going with best song, I don't know how anyone can go without mentioning in Repair or 4am.

I remember that bit in Friends, but I had no idea the book was SM. Someone has to work out which episode so I can go out and buy it on DVD :D
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Random Name wrote:I bought SM book in Ottawa (along with the CD ironically since my old one was dead after it went through the washing machine....:freak:) and since I can't sleep on airplanes and everyone else I on the plane could I had a lot of time to get through the first couple of chapters. I kept wanting to wake people up and talk to them about it but I couldn't.

I still think that In Repair is one of their best songs. I love it. Its so different then any thing else they have....other then whats on that cd. Its a very powerful song. Though I am not sure I would have gotten into OLP the way I did if it wasnt for the video. That was the song that made me buy their cd but I was in a big art phase and fell in love with the video then realized what an breathtaking song it was.

I did that too! Whenever I was reading the book I would stop and tell people about how computers can make stories and paint pictures. After that, I downloaded the cybernetic poet and the program that paints pictures. They were so cool. But then my computer died and now they're gone. I need to reread the book now and find that friends episode!

In repair is definitely one of their best songs because it's so unique. But the other stuff on SM in my opinion is unique equally or moreso. Everyones a Junkie has sort of a blues format at the beginning, which is definitely not in any other OLP song. If You Believe was one of my most favorite songs for a long time because of this feel to it. I used to think it belonged on the Matrix soundtrack. And don't forget All My Friends. Not my absolute favorite, but there is nothing like it that I have found.
  Man that's a good album! I need an SM fix just talking about it!

Speaking of ER - Warner Bros. can blow me. The first season 1 set i got, had internal disc errors and luckily I talked the place i got it into taking it back for a new one.
So now.....my second season 1 set ALSO has freakin issues. I'm pissed. Oh, and season 2 comes out in April.

I get the feeling that NBC didn't put alot of effort into making the ER dvd. I still like it but, there's film scratches and whatnot on some of the episodes. I can't even get the special features disc to run :uh:
