Chamber Music/Chamber Pop

Post by joe_canadian »

I've heard these terms a lot, but for the life of me can't figure out what they refer to.

What does it all mean?
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

I've never heard of Chamber Pop before, but I've heard chamber music. . . it's supposedly an old word referring to music that was played in smaller rooms rather than big halls or something . . I've usually heard it in reference to small choirs and things like that. . .

or there could be a completely different definition and I could just be dumb.

Back in elementary school, I went to band, but there were 2 types of bands, the beginners, and the advanced. Since almost everyone who was in 'Advanced' Band had "graduated" the previous year, and I hadn't, I was one of the only 2 musicians in 'Advanced Band'. So my conductor said that since there was only the 3 of us, we'd just play as a chamber band. Obviously being in 6th and 7th grade, albert and I asked what the hell a Chamber Band was, and Ms. Woods (the conductor) explained what it is.

Well, yeah, chamber music is, like Annie said, and old english phrase, and back in, like, the middle ages, whenever there was a large dinner (or ball or whatever) they would have a small band play, without a conductor, and they would be called the Chamber Band.

...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.
