3 Doors Down - January 30th, 2004 - MEMPHIS, TN

Post by Jeni »

January 30th, 2004 - Memphis, TN @ Midsouth Coliseum

3 DOORS DOWN w/ Shinedown Tantric

Pre-show:

The meet and greet was crap but at least we got to hang INSIDE while everyone else had to wait out in the freezing cold. *muwhaha* I am giving the signed poster to my friend Mee Mee cause she wuvs them a lot and couldnt go. We only got a few seconds with the band before ushered out. They were being tits. Not the band, the radio station putting on the whole meet and greet deal. Anyway, we got to stay inside and got up in the pit. They had already started letting people inside and a few people had gotten to the front before us but before shinedown left, we were 2nd row so no biggie. I am not afraid of Mosh Pits.

Shinedown:

Big improvement since the last show in July I saw of them. I was actually impressed with their performance. he didn't look like such a unclean guy and more like a rockstar. Their cover of "Simple Man" was simply amazing and they brought out Ronnie Vanzant's daughter and granddaughter. That was really really cool. Getting better guys!!

Tantric:

Sorta boring. They would be much more suited to do an acoustic set. But all in all, was a good middle band. No our lady peace I tell you. Highlight of that show was when Brad came out and sang with the band.

3 Doors Down:

Really good live show. We had a blast in the pit. Sang the songs, the band played to our side of the show cause they knew most of us there. That was really great too. The other side go hardly any love. Loser was sang with the lead singer of Tantric and immediately the way he was dressed we were looking at each other saying he looked like 1998 Scott Stapp LMAO! After the show we went and hung out by the buses to talk to the band members and one by one they came over and talked to us. They knew a few of us there already so they all walked right up to our group but Brad. We had a really great time and to show you how good of a time..here are my pictures taken by my friend Holly whom I love so much for taking me along... We all were in a sleeping bag and Daniel got in the sleeping bag with us it was THAT cold ha! Was great fun!! It was really really cold. Todd said he missed playing with OUR LADY PEACE. I told him they should bring them back out on the road!! Without further adu...Jen and 3 Doors Down.

Tantric was boring. He "raved" dance while he sung. I thought to myself, how odd.

So here's what I thought when I read your post.

"How can someone like 3 Doors Down and Shinedown? Then, on top of that, how can someone not like Tantric?"

Yeah. It just doesn't make sense.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I'd hate to see 3DD molest each other

*shudder*
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I gotta say, that one song "Here without you" turned me off from that band completly. I hate that song. And to be honest, I don't know why since it sounds like all of their other songs anyway.

Did you get any pictures of the show?

Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
