The best radio station

Post by I AM ME »

What's your favorite radio station?

brandon has horse crap for radio, so i listen to Winnipeg's Power 97, it's really awesome, it plays a good mix of new rock and 90's rock that you never hear anymore. I love it, you pegger's don't know what you have untill you spend a day here. I've listened to calgary, toronto, sask, and edmonton radio and i can honestly say that i still think Power 97 is the best

CBC can be REALLY good. If it's not playing a show talking about the breaking news of a genetic breakthrough of the siamese water worm, that is. DNTO is great, they used to have the saturday show, not sure if they still do, and they play some great comedy.

On Saturday's, it's all about CBC Radio One.

Otherwise, I listen to Kingston's KRock (105.7).

If I get sick of hearing the same stuff over and over on KRock, I switch to some station I get out of the US (100.7).

Being from Niagara we get the best of both worlds. All of the Toronto stations as well as the Buffalo stations, so there's quite the selection. Unfortunately since I'm not currently living there, I'm really forced to not listen to the radio cause up here all we get is a local station really, and although they play all rock music (classic and today's) I'm not really a fan of the classic so it kind of turns me off.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

The only half decent station in TBay is Rock 94. And they basically play 50% 80s hair bands, 40% stuff like older U2, and 10% newer stuff (1990ish to now)

I really like Ottawa's station, the Bear I think it's called, Power 97 is good too, and the Edge of course.

88.7 (89x) in Windsor-Detroit... it is a really good station- not only do they play good music, but they do some pretty sweet giveaways (they had one this past weekend for a signed OLP poster and a signed Korn XBOX, alot of other signed stuff too)

When I'm in the Toronto area though, I love the edge- I wish they would broadcast it in my area.

Winnepeg's Power 97 is definetely the best radio station i've ever heard. And man.. dont even bring Saskatoon or Saskatchewan radio into this, its horrible. I'd rather listen to the tapes that my parents keep in the van then our radio.

wow, i hope i never hear bright eyes on the radio, that would be creepy.

Most of the radio stations here kinda suck, but i like the community radio KRCL they play all this weird funky stuff. KJQ used to be pretty awesome, they were basically a new-wave station, but now they changed to something else. The X96 morning people are pretty funny, but the music they play throughout the day gets boring really fast.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

on another weird/creepy note... flipping through channels tonight hear bright eyes mention, on the OC so i decide to watch (yeah i am sucker), my friends tell the play all the music i listen to but it was just weird, they play new amsterdams, then damien rice, and i think i heard the postal service. was just odd, plus the show was bad, i guess i could look on the bright side and say that at least every prepy kid in my school is being forced to listen to decent music while they watch it.

Man, I was really bored one day and was flipping through some YM or something at school. Every other word was like "oooooh, emo boys!" or "wow, you are just like so emo!"

It kinda creeped me out :freak:

yeah, never look at any magazines like that. the last time i looked at one i thought i was just going to make fun of it, but it ended up making me really depressed because i realized just how stupid some people really are.

Before, my favourite radio station was 104.9 XFM, but they had to do something with it, and it turned queer about a month before Christmas. Then it turned into 'The Chritmas Station'. Then, once Christmas was over, it turned into 'The Jazz Station'.

Pshaw.

Now, the only 2 rock stations I can think of are Rock 101, and 99.3 The Fox. I usually to the Fox, more than Rock 101, 'cuz Rock 101's more classic, like Led Zeppelin, and KISS and stuff, while The Fox is more modern... Nirvana, Linkin Park, and a ton of others.
