My Disappearance and My Reappearance

Post by curtman16 »

For those that wondered where I've been (since I last visited on Mon Nov 10, 2003 6:19 pm), I've been otherwise occupied with school and Ebony. I wish I still had the time I once did to post on the CM, but priorities change, so for anyone who is interested, here is an update on my life and times.

December 12th, 2003 - I proposed to Ebony. For the eternal pessimist on women, I'm overjoyed to find everything I ever wanted in a woman and more. We are now engaged to be married July 3rd.

December 22nd, 2003 - Receive offer to work at Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. http://www.cerner.com I accepted a position as a software engineer and will start work on July 7th.

Now - Attending classes for the last semester. Planning to graduate May 1st with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University. Feverishly trying to plan the wedding and come up with funds to have an excellent wedding. Still trying to find time to rip the last OLP show I went to, but I just haven't had the time. I also have half a Tori Amos show to rip for my Ebony when I have time for that too :) I hope to poke my head out every now and again to post or lurk here and there, but if you'd like to drop me a line send an email to curtman16@yahoo.com or curtman16@hotmail.com or catch me online sometime. But as for me, I must sleep now. I miss you guys!

*^ The ashtray says, you were up all night
When you went to bed, with your darkest mind
Your pillow wept, and covered your eyes
And you finally slept, while the sun caught fire ^*

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

congrats bro, kinda scary when a CM-er moves on to be a real-life grown-up....

Happy future wedding day!
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

You're still a kid at heart.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.
