Is this thread screwed for anyone else? Cos Olivia and Jason have both just posted but I can't see their posts until I hit reply :(
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

A good friend of mine has a copy of History Teacher! It's number 22 of 200, the number was hand written on the case. Her cousin was the first guy in the band with Matt, a guy named Steve Codling. He's mentioned in the unofficial history of the band "Matt liked the way Steve played keyboards, so they became a duo". It's amazing. The cover art is pretty amateurish, but it's just a bloody jewel. It includes two tracks from the Rodchester Kings, but I've yet to listen to them.
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

history teacher

steve is a fucking asshole
There were approximately 200 copies made
- Matt filed a lawsuit against Steve for making the compilation and selling it without the bands permission

just finished a first draft of a crappy biography of Matt. I found it tough to find a lot of information. So, if anyone is willing to help, can you please answer a few questions?

Why did Lloyd leave the band after underdogs?

Why didn't Matt like AOB?

I need more info on his childhood. How was his family? any siblings? etc?

i'm pretty sure matt doesn't like aob because of the time period in his life in which he actually made the album. he wasn't functioning properly with the band members, and as such, he wasn't a happy person. it was definitely one of the darker periods in his life, as far as i've heard.

i've heard a person put it somewhere along the lines of eating with your boyfriend/girlfriend at a restaurant and he/she breaks up with you. odds are you probably don't want to go back to that restaurant anytime soon because it holds too much negative emotional significance. apparently aob is kind of like that. it just reminds him of things he'd rather forget, or something.

i guess he also found that he rushed the album too, and felt that he could have done the songs differently.

but then, this all just stuff i've heard before.

That's great! Thanks for your help!

Info on Lloyd would be great too if you know anything about it.

I'm trying to have a clear out of some of the stuff in my spare room today and I found the brochure for my car. And a couple of pages in there's this picture of lightning with hills/mountains in the background and that thing you get from car lights where you slow down the exposure or whatever and it's all blurred. And I thought to myself how it looked really familiar then it hit me that it was really similar to the cover of Beautiful Midnight - so I went to get the CD and it's exactly the same picture!! Which is kind of cool, yet wierd too.
