Alice In Chains.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

i know they're not bands, and musically wise, they are by no means the best..
but seriously, boy bands ruled the 90's. they were the best bands because they made the most money, made the most fans swoon, and were the most well known of any.
if you're not going for the music..boy bands made the 90's theirs. they dominated, and in that way were the best.

but musically, with real bands..that's a toughie. nirvana was definitely up there. as for others..i'd have to say i think the smashing pumpkins are up there. they were huge in the 90's, right? i'm not a fan of them, but i know a ton of people used to be, and they do have some damn good stuff.

OLP takes it for me but Radiohead, Nirvana and R.E.M also had a good decade imo.

I guess in all honesty, in my opinion it would indeed be olp.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

...tough.

The obvious Radiohead, OLP, Pumkins, Nirvana...

and then, I know they came out late in the decade, but MGB. They are probably my favorite band of all time. Then there is also Green Day and Incubus.

I wouldn't say they were the best band of the 90s but Everclear definitely helped me to get through my 90s.

Alice in Chains or The Smashing Pumpkins in my opinion... Nirvana in most other people's opinions.
