folks the reason for this topic i can't explain, but if you know it please stay quiet about it, it would really upset me if everyone knew about it.
So here's the question
Is "Live" a good album? Would you consider it comparable to a new album? Or an new album from another artist in artristry and entertainment? To often i think when we make choices we put olp on a pedastal and don't really do what's right. We're not always honest with ourselves about what is good and what was just meh. Sometimes olp isn't the best and i don'tthink we realize that. We shouldn't continue to follow blindly and support anything whether it's right or wrong
Again if you might know what i'm elduing to pleace don't bring it up, it woudl break me to see a huge horde of semi-intelligent olp boppers run off and comitt a heinous act.

Not really sure what this is exactly??? If you don't like Live that's up to you. Its just kind of weird for you to tell us what are opinions should be leaning towards.........we all have our own minds and are capable of making these tough decisions. 
Personally I find live to be okay.........I much prefer studio recordings because its just better quality in every way. Anyways, I still look forward to the new album a whole lot though.

yeah sorry i have to be very vague, but put it this way. Do you think "live" was an excellent album? Should it be considered artistically significant, or worthy of praise and prestige? Or was it just a pretty good live cd? Some people here know exactly what i'm talking about but as i said before i'd like to keep it quiet

Well......Live is just that live. Theres no new earth shattering new music on there. Its just professionally recorded bootlegs. Correct? What more can be done with a live album?
I heart Our Lady Peace. They're pretty much the only reason why I started to play guitar and get more invloved in music. They're my main inspiration for my material.
Althought that doesnt mean that I follow them blindly. I know when to say that this isnt the greatest, they can do better. Now...I'm going to wait for their next album to really decide on how OLP are progressing.

I don't think people blindly follow so much as just accept OLP's changes without comparing them so much to the past. Sure Gravity was no achievement, but I didn't mind it (call it OLP-Lite)...........maybe because it was the first time I had ever anticipated an OLP album.............and after hearing the new songs, I like them..........but hope they are more Naveed or Happiness like then Gravity. Anyways, with Bob producing I'm starting to get a glimpse of what it will sound like. It seems very melodic and energetic, but maybe a tad too simple........but that just might be because its live bootlegs.
And telling us when we might hear the new single would be appreciated. They're holding out!

I haven't actually listened to the Live album in a while. It's good, from the perspective of a fan who wants a good quality taste of a live show. Other than that, it is just a live album. In terms of artfulness and praise-worthy? Meh. It's just the more popular singles and a few really great songs thrown in. I mean, that's not to say that I don't like the songs, but it's not like they wrote them for the CD. Live is like a little taste for us to hear Steve before the new album. It's good for OLP fans, but I don't expect anything more from it.

I never bought it......I downloaded the sucka. I bought it for my fiance though, just because when it comes to OLP she prefers a legit copy.
I like the Live CD...but its nothing I really got hot 'n bothered over. I mean live OLP definitely is kick ass, but what's so creative about it??? Just the bands sense of uniqueness maybe....

They deserve recognition for the good live shows and from their past work. I don't think Live is anything to get OVERLY excited about, unless you usually get excited about bootlegs, like I do. I love the cd. Now...if it had been a new album, then it would be a different story. I don't think OLP has gotten anything they haven't deserved though.
