Social Code

Post by doug »

As you may remember, I used to come around here and post a link to the website of an independent, Canadian band called Fifth Season.

Not many of you bothered to check them out, i don't think. You jerks. :p

Anyway, this band did get signed to Interscope last year after working their dicks off for eight years in the Edmonton local scene and touring Canada with the likes of Econoline Crush, Wide Mouth Mason and the Tea Party to name a few.

They've had to change their name to Social Code, but their ass kicking music is the same. Their website is http://www.socialcodemusic.com

They are going to be the biggest band in the world. I'm just letting you know in advance.

well..i'm bored, recooperating from tooth surgery, and i stumbled here, and decided to check them out, as you've commanded (ok, not quite, but still) me to.

first impression from the 2 songs on the website: they're good. but..they sound so..normal. they don't grab me right away. they're a mix of what's out there, it seems.

essentially, not the type of music that i like. but granted, they are good, even though the sound doesn't thrill me. they probably will make it..if they have been working for 8 years, they deserve to get somewhere.

Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.

Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.
my boots are broken my brain is sore, fer keepin' up with thier little world, i got a heavy load.
gonna leave 'em all just like before, i'm big city bound, your always 17 in your hometown

I have the demo cd, and i really like them. However, Social Code is a gay name, whereas Fifth Season is a cool name.
Don't ask questions, just accept it.
