Non-defective DVD
Anyone get the new DVD yet? I went to Future Shop yesterday, but they didn't have it and they didn't know when it was going to be in....pretty sketchy too especially when I traded in my DVD for a gift card...

sony e-mailed me saying they'd be sending out new copies once they get them .. who knows when that will be .. i don't care either way since my copy works fine and I don't watch it anyway

Thats sad man. I'm the same way. I was pumped up for the DVD and I only watched it twice. Normally(and by normal I mean: if the dvd was better)I woulda watched it many times by now. So, yeah. I'm not rushing out to get another copy

Thats sad man. I'm the same way. I was pumped up for the DVD and I only watched it twice. Normally(and by normal I mean: if the dvd was better)I woulda watched it many times by now. So, yeah. I'm not rushing out to get another copy
Yeah I watched it once .. then shelved it. I don't have to worry about getting another copy since Sony will eventually mail me another one and then I'll have 2 to shelve. It works as a coaster now and then too.

it's not that big of a deal .. one song on the dvd skips .. and they're sending you out another copy and they've already e-mailed one explanation .. what more do you want?
Both Raine and Sony have apologized for the errors already .. maybe you didn't get the e-mail because it went into your junk folder or something.
The point is they're correcting the problem and you're getting another dvd, there's not much else they can do. If it's bugging you this much e-mail sony directly ... hell I'll give you my second copy if you stop bitching

no i mean they should be appologising about the messed up release dates, they've been giving us wrong dates for the last year, and then we had to go through a recall AND now most cities still don't have them. That doesn't fly in my world

How about just apologizing for this crappy excuse for a product?
I just got the new Tenacious D DVD. Fucking awesome. One live disc (full show with synced vocals in PCM and 5.1), 6 HBO episodes (10 min shorts) a second disc with 3 music videos (w/ 2 making ofs, 1 is animated), 3 live TV appearances, On the road documentary, in the studio documentary, and even a few easter eggs here and there.
Long live the D.
OLP gave us one poorly synced show (5.1 vocals synced, the PCM mix was horrible), the chance of a defective disc, recycled footage they licensed from Much, grainy omni-miced home videos, a photo gallery, band bios (as if we didn't know who was in the band), a discography and DVD credits (so we know who to blame).
Oh, and those two DVD's? The same price. $19.99
