Am I just Stupid....

Or were there only two videos from gravity? I was just wondering about that in school. I mean i know it's not too shocking, but i would have thought they would release more seeing how bands like All American Rejects and Simple Plan are releasing 4-5 videos from their cd...

OLP were just rushing once they got steve i think, they quickly got out and toured, and then when back to the studio. Plus OLP don't seem to relase as many singles as the used to:

Naveed
Supersattlite
Starseed (video)
Birdman(video)
Hope(video)
Naveed (video)

Clumsy
Clumsy (Video)
Supermans Dead (Video)
Carnival
Automatic Flowers (Video)

Happiness
OMA (Video)
Is Anybody Home? (Video)
Thief (Video)

Spiritual Machines
In Repair (Video)
Life (Video)
Mafia

Gravity
Somewhere Out There (Video)
Innocent (Video)
Made of Steel

as you can see after naveed and clumsy singles decreased, and so did vids[/u]

then there were the two from live.
for a while there not enough was played from gravity but the live version was the one that was released so I guess that doesnt count.

I wish they would go back to the old 4 video system, most big rock bands now a days have atleast three per cd. They want to be noticed so bad, then thats what they have to do. Their two biggest selling albums both had 4 vids and 1 radio single, you think it would make sense to continue this.

They don't release loads of singles because it would have them on the radio and TV ALL THE TIME. If they did release 4 singles between Happiness and Spiritual Machines it would have connected them right together.......and if Spiritual Machines had another single it would have been close to Gravity.............too much is a bad thing.

especially in canada since that's the only place these videos get played really. Rarely do you see an OLP video getting the same airplay as it does in Canada. So in Canada you'd get nothing but OLP all the time.

j/k, I get what y'all mean. Plus, the music industry has changed quite a bit since the Naveed/Clumsy days. Things ain't like they used to be.

*reminisces about ill-defined good ole' days*
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

i don't know, but i'd guess that the reason for lack of videos from olp nowadays is due to the increasing value that they seem to be putting on recording and touring.

Raine has said that he doesn't like shooting videos...He said this when Much was on set with them shooting the Innocent video...I am pretty sure he justifies his reason/s during that interview as well but I don't remember them from that show...sorry

He said that after doing so many videos, it's starting to lose it's appeal. Plus, he's sick of putting himself in the directors' hands, because they always tell him to "hold back" (look at Innocent, and compare it to how he acts live). Hopefully the next video(s) will have Raine acting like himself again.

Unfortunately, I think OLP needs a great video to help them if they truly want more exposure. SoT and Innocent do not stand out as videos. In Repair stands out. Life stands out. One Man Army stands out.

If they are only going to film two videos, gotta make 'em good ones.

i wish they would just go back to the more artistic less polished way 90's vids were made, i don't mean just olp's vids, but all 90's ones in general, did you notice that they all have some sort of common thread? Plus they were my favorites, now a days they're pulled off so polisyhed and holiwoody

 For sure, i mean, they've had some amazing vids in the past, im surprised innocent WON the cinematography award at the MMVA's. i was shocked they even got nominated, because to me, it wasnt their best work, not nearly. it was very un-olp, it reminded me of creed. *cries*

I'm guessin the lack of singles we've seen has to do with the whole overexposure thing. OLP gets a ridiculous amount of airplay in Canada. Right now when they're isnt a OLP song even in "rotation" they still managed to get played every 5 hours or so....

Didn't Raine say something about being sick of constantly hearing themselves on radio and seeing themselves on TV? Maybe that has something to do with it....
