The Strokes - Room on Fire

Post by nelison »

Hey all,
have any of you picked up the new Strokes cd? I got it on Saturday and have been really giving it some good listens. It's a tough album to get into. It isn't as energetic as Is This it?, and it isn't nearly as catchy. A lot of the songs sound similar too.

There are a couple excellent songs that do stand out. What Ever Happened, 12:51 (the first single) and Automatic Stop are pretty good tunes. The rest of the album just seems somewhat blah.

Did anyone else get it?

I picked it up awhile ago and I like it for the most part. All the songs do sound very similiar at first, but at the same time so did Is This It? I know I'll love it more in the summer, it just has that sound to it. All and all I think its a good cd.

I disliked their first album, but I really like the new single.

ok it's now been a week since I bought the album...

It's awesome!! you really gotta give it some listens to appreciate it, but it's rockin! I do recommend it, but in typical Strokes fashion you gotta ease into it.
