Murder By Death

Post by Sufjan Stevens »

Everyone on this board seriously needs to check these guys out. I saw them open for The New Amsterdams on Thursday, and they blew me away with their songs like "Until Morale Improves, The Beatings Will Continue."

These guys have a unique sound to them, and listening to them is totally captivating. After seeing them live and buying their cd, I've listened to it at least 10 times in the past three days, and it just keeps getting better.

They have the best music I've heard in a while. Their drummer plays like a young Mike Felumlee (you people who listen to "punk" music better know who he is) and the guitar is great, not to mention the cello and keys add so much to the songs. They have some songs with words, and they have some fucking amazing instrumentals, and each song just hits you with its amazingness.

I am going to rip the CD I bought tonight and hopefully talk to Rob soon and see if he can host it on the site. I want to have these songs available for all the children of the world to hear, because these guys deserve our gratitude for their music. Until then, hit me up on AIM, my screen name is BleedToPleaseYou, and I will be more than willing to send you some songs from the CD.

And on one last note, I want you all to remember that I don't steer you wrong with music. I got a great deal of you people here into Alkaline Trio (before the cool thing to do was to listen to them) and Koufax, just to name two bands. I don't give out bad recommendations when it comes to music, so please trust me on this. Downloading these songs will be mind altering.

That is all. I expect some responses in this thread, not to mention some requests for the songs. Thanks.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I can tell you right now this is certainly not punk.

It's really hard to describe what kind of music they play. Honestly, I can't classify these guys. It would be best for me just to send you some songs and decide what they are for yourself.

Hah, I'm not even on the Hub man. I don't download music much anymore. Like I said before, I am sure someone here has the ability to give me some space so I can post the songs as links so everyone can enjoy the amazing music. Until then, I guess I can send it to a member that's on the hub, like you, and you can slap it on there for everyone to listen to.

I'm interested, but I don't have AIM.

I'll see what I can snag off of Kazaa. What are some track names?

You're right about one thing, you've never steered me wrong before.

Yeah, I can probably send the songs over MSN, I just have to download the program and slap my old name on there.

Some fun information on the cd I am ripping.

On track #1, there's a guest vocal spot from the singer of Thursday. The guys from Thursday "discovered" Murder By Death and signed them to their label, and here now the guy does some vocals on this cd. Fun stuff.

This cd needs to be listened to in its entirety. Even though the songs sound great by themselves, all the songs link together to tell a story, so it's best to listen to if you can listen to the whole thing. If you can't, that's cool too, because you're always able to listen to the songs, like Three Men Hanging and Until Morale Improves, The Beatings Will Continue, among others.

If my computer didn't suck nine cocks at once, I would already have the album for you, but it likes to not work for me, so here I am. Waiting for it to rip. I only have two more tracks left to rip. La la la.
