I was about to say the same thing about Futurama. I still don't know which I like better, both are such great shows. Fry is my hero though. I think both of these shows failed due to Fox bumping their time around constantly and not because of their content.

Family Guy failed because of Futurama. Fox had to cancel one, and Groening said that if they cancelled Futurama, he'd stop making Simpsons. So, they had to cancel Family Guy.

That's not true, cuz they canned Futurama, too. Plus Groening is under contract to continue The Simpsons; if he's pissed about a cancellation, or not.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

As far as Family Guy coming back, that'll kick ass. Since it's been doing so great in re-runs on Cartoon Network, and DVD sales are through the roof, they really have a shot at getting new eps on. Plus, even if that falls through, the creators of the show are planning to do a staright-to-DVD Family Guy movie. So cooool beeeeans....

There's nothing concrete about it, but...

http://newshound.de.siu.edu/pulse/stori ... Reader$943

The rumour that I mentioned above (sorry for stating it kind of like a fact, heh...) basically stems from the controversy about Family Guy being the next Simpsons. Plus, Futurama ran longer than Family Guy, while most people seemed to prefer FG anyways...
