This won't be a battle between Canadians and Americans. It's just a reaction to a (yet another) contest for just Canadians.

While I would LOVE to sign up for the contest.......we as U.S. fans have to realize that OLP is from Canada  so it all only makes appropriate sense.

Atleast you Americans get a tour every once in a while... We Europeans haven't seen them here since March!

exactly it......or how about our boys in South America?!? I feel bad for them because they are definitely left without all the greatness. Thank god for the hub.

Yeah, OLP might tour here more often, but it's with crap like 3 Doors Down as an opening band, so really, we might as well not have had a tour this summer.

3DD opening for OLP is still better than OLP opening for Avril Lavigne

But it's been pretty good lately in Europe, a couple of shows, a full tour and supporting Avril in one year time. I'd more than happy if they keep up this rate.

OLP opened for 3DD not the other way around, and they only played like seven songs. And as for them being from Canada, well not all of them are now.

Ok, so you're saying that since Steve is from the states, that they should change what has always been comfortable to them, and start focusing on the states more than Canada???

Good luck with that.....

Besides......weren't OLP in the states far more than Canada (as far as touring) from 2000-2003?? Sure has seemed that way.

I wasn't trying to say they should now focus all there energies on the US, but a little more would be nice. Like maybe equal opportunity contests that include other countries as well and not just Canada. Please don't make me have to explain myself again

We've had a few contests, too. Not nearly as many, but a few. It's because there isn't nearly as big of a demand for OLP down here as in Canada, and therefore a contest to win something from them won't help promote the company running the contest as much. Canadian companies run contests for Canadians. American companies run contests for Americans. That's just how it is.

... not that I don't complain and hate it, too... but yeah.

ive been to 15 or so OLP shows.. of which only 6 were in canada

im lucky to be friends with stace  and have her put up with my insomniac ways and drive me around to shows.. *cough*and nearly kill me due to heart attacks*cough*

but theres plenty of canadian folks who dont have the opportuninies ive had and who are very big fans of the band who do feel "left out"
go fuck yourself.

LIKE ME!!!!

...sorry.
no one ever comes to any of the atlantic provinces. its sad. and if they do, its halifax. I feel bad for people from PEI or Labrador and stuff. heh. But thats okay. OLP came here on FotTPT (that doesn't look right) so I'll only have to wait another 5 years for them to come back!

YAY! and hey....
I am not sure if I am happy or offended!

In a months time you won't want to be anywhere near here. For some reason, in the past three years we have gotten insane amounts of snow. You can literally climb onto the roof of some buildings from the amount of snow. I have seen it cover up stop signs. :freak: Thats not fun. basically, winter driving sucks.
